Amazing game, but damn hard. I cleared it on MAME for the first time tonight. had to use like 200 credits to do it. Took some messing around but a duel analogue gamepad like a Playstation controller will do the trick. that and 4 trigger buttons. Fun game!
An 80s neon infused vision of what Futuristic Space tank combat could look like🎉once you master the tank controls while rotating the turret independently to shoot on the move, it's a lot of fun.
I loved this game when I was a teen for it's glowing neon visuals, groovy music and cool sound effects. A late 80s masterpiece. Good tank games are rare, so.. Futuristic Space Tanks with unique weapons and power ups, enemies that can be aggressive and bizarre in nature, all to a rockin soundtrack? YES PLEASE🎉 wish I had gotten the T shirt for this game, or could find a reprint of it. This guy drives his tank at a frenetic pace, berserker style, but has decent turret skills. Moments of brilliance, deft tank maneuvering. A joy to find this replay, if I had a man cave, I would play this on the wall mounted flat screen in the background. Got my girlfriend to play the original arcade machine at a retro game convention, and the midway arcade treasures version on PS3, she enjoyed them both. Nothing compares with having two full size joysticks for the signature tank controls, but the PS3 controller is an adequate substitute.
Best version is midway arcade treasures on PS3, that way you can use the wireless controller with the analogue sticks, emulators won't let you do that. Note: this version removed the background static hum that permeated the PS2 version. It's the one you want.

I remember playing this on arcade back in early 90's....rarely if ever managed getting through first 3 stages lol. 😂
I saw this game in arcade, but only got to play it a couple of times. the upgrade system was really a new idea then.
the kids were playing this in the 'Home before dark' tv séries
