I cant lie I've already commented but I really hope you see this. I've been struggling with detaching to secular music and trying to find godly alternatives. And this song is just perfect. It has the beats , rhymes but most importantly the anointing of God .
Skillet is a Christian rock band, Tobymac has hip-hop albums, Crowder is this difficult to describe ... country-hip hop-esque ...thing but it's amazing. everyone is joining the race at different points. some of us are raised in it and learn of faithfilled artists from family but others don't and must wade through the muck that is the modern music scene. some artists from the 80s are Petra (Christain Rock), Geof Moore & The Distance (also Rock), Stryper (METAL Christian Rock), Carmen (... skits? he did a couple raps tho... dude is weird as Crowder but completely differnent). I recomend all of these and more.
Man.. you are not alone...... I've deleted all the secular junk I used to listen to from my playlists. I'm done with that junk forever. Think hard about the message in any so-called hard secular hip hop song and notice it's filled with explicit sin and self proclaiming pride. Tupac Shakur's Hit em up is a perfect example. I thank you Lord for delivering me from "hip hop"!
