I used to listen to Shania all the time when I was a kid. She's a perfect example of what a live voice can sound like. Many singers today don't give it everything they have like Shania does.
She sounds like the studio version of the song, because she is lip-syncing. Play the songs back-to-back, it's the same vocal track. Check out her version of 'That Don't Impress Me Much' during this same show, you can hear the echo and her breathing, which is what performing LIVE really is. Not sure why this was lipped, she may struggle to keep up with these faster songs or something.

Heck! When I arrived home in Toronto on the night of this concert, I discovered it aired on CBC. I had a connecting flight home at O Hare airport that morning on my way back from Taipei. If I had known about the concert, I would have taken the flight the next day to see Shania Twain. Was I ever upset.
To be quite honest! I really dont give a shit if Shania is miming or not. Fact is, you DONT 'last the length of time that she has, on a lie! She has a fabulous voice. She certainly is a true performer and... I just cant get enough of her! (Ooooooooooooooooh how i wish though,lolol) Mmmmmmmmmmm ;)

It's easy to connect with your audience vocally, when they're oblivious to your lip-syncing. You can put a lot more focus on the performance aspect.
