They are nothing like the beautiful photos of him being himself and doing what brings him joy- he was being pressured to allow himself to be marketed as a "teen idol" and he says on other video that he was willing to act to earn a living if performing music wasn't putting food on the table and a roof overhead, but not willing to do the other stuff they tried to get him to buy into selling an image, that he deeply objected and felt repulsed by it (my word for what it sounded like when he spoke about it)
