People forget that the reason why Kobe was Robin and Shaq was Batman is because Shaq had 3 years playing in college, 4 years playing in Orlando Magic and then played with Kobe, who was drafted straight from high school. Shaq was so much mature at this point.
Kobe has that dawg him. He’s a killer. He won’t be denied. Seriously, if you tell him “No, Kobe, I don’t consent” he’ll just push through he’s unstoppable.
Yeah but the dawg thing doesn’t make you a top 2 player. He was often selfish (like Jordan) and took a lot of bad shot just cause he was Kobe. I think we over value the dawg thing.
I give skill to Kobe. He was a regular guy with an insane work ethic. Jordan’s work ethic was crazy too but he had the gift of unnaturally large hands and a 48 inch vertical during a time when science didn’t really have a path to help you develop one.
I’m glad someone said it. Care to me, I’m picking Kobe because he took what MJ did, studied it, figured out how to implement it into every game, and turn it into something great to the point where this debate is even a thing. And to then realize that Kobe’s body wasn’t some standout, once every generation type of physique. Kobe had the body of a standard 2 guard, with the drive and knowledge of someone who studied the game. In my opinion, if Kobe had some type of natural, physical plus like lager hands, a ungodly vertical, or something, Kobe would have blown Mj out the water

There's a lot of players in the NBA that more skilled than Michael Jordan right now but there's no one that was obsessed with Winning and what give anything to win
“A better handle” I quit the video right there. MJ had that giant hand. He could do anything he wanted with the ball single handed. Even Phil Jackson said this.
MJ didn't really have a crossover... Kobe had a crossover and a deep bag at that. Cats were getting straight confused trying to guard newer player like AI, Grant Hill and Kobe.

Also, you bringing up "he never averaged 30" tells me you didn't watch Tmac play at all. Anyone who uses stats as their premise is clear cut indication you didn't watch those games. If you did, you wouldn't need stats to make your point. Tmac averaged 32 pts a game in the 2003 season.
Mj shot 32.7% from three throughout his career. Kobe shot 32.9% from three throughout his career. These guys should check some simple statistics before saying some shit that just isn’t true🤦🏻♂️
@@Deeko5k ok but once again they shoot the same percentage from three. Kobe shot more threes so he made more threes but that doesn’t mean he was better at them. I hate when y’all use this argument cause yall act like Kobe didn’t take more difficult shots it’s not like it’s a wide open shot and they missing yeah his shot selection was bad he shoot over 2-3 ppl but that’s why but if u don’t watch u know u have to use numbers
Other way around. Kobe Bryant and Michael Jordan have the same three-point percentage at around 33%, but Kobe Bryant has taken a lot more and made more.
You do realize that the NBA moved the 3 point line closer back in 1994. They didn't move it back until 1997. MJ's 3-point shot skyrocketed to 43% because of this. He doesn't shoot the 3 as well as Kobe.
@@JahHoopz mj had two seasons in 89-90 and 92-93 where he shot better than Kobe’s career average at 37.6% and 35.2%. And that was before they moved the line closer. At the end of the day they shoot about the same percentage from three, and like the original comment said kobe just shot a lot more from deep than Michael ever did. I’m sure if Michael practiced and shot more from three that his percentage would be better than it is. His thing was high percentage mid range shots. Tmac was a penny hardaway, cut with Reggie and Vince Carter. Such a wonderful time to see
100% agree, for all of the reasons that TMAC listed. Kobe's only limitations, when compared to Jordan, was his athleticism. Jordan was faster, and got off the floor faster and higher. With that said, Kobe's athleticism was still elite, and plenty good enough to count as a major strength in his game.
I don’t think Kobe will ever get the Love he deserves. I’m not a big Kobe fan but his game, his talent, his contributions to the Lakers and NBA overall were incredible. R.I.P Champ!
Tmac in his prime winning scoring titles was amazing to watch. He was right there with Kobe ...unfortunately just could never get over the hump in the playoffs. If Tim Duncan had gone to Orlando that would have been an incredible duo.
Kobe overexerted himself so much the stress on his body ended his career early. Jordan was able to move like no one can, play numerous 82 games, and dominate to the end because he focused on only what he really needed rather than all skill sets, which he could've also done. One can only handle thoughts and stress on the body so much for so long.
I remember long time ago, when they asked Kobe in a interview what is for him the toughest player to guard in NBA, he undoubtably said T-Mac," because he does everything I do but he is even bigger". Well, the respect was obviously mutual....
When you had the size of hands like MJ, you don’t need “handles”..no one taking his cookies regardless.. MJ is the original masterpiece. Kobe was the remix of the masterpiece..

TMAC was the reason I love this game ❤🏀
I love Kobe but I watched both of their entire careers and the only thing that made sense was the three point shooting. And he's right about himself in a one on one game.

TMAc has a emotional and personal connection with Kobe as they are contemporaries and they arrived in the league 1 season apart. He faced Kobe throughout his prime while facing Jordan near the end or even past his prime considering the years lost to his breaks from the sport.

People forget that the reason why Kobe was Robin and Shaq was Batman is because Shaq had 3 years playing in college, 4 years playing in Orlando Magic and then played with Kobe, who was drafted straight from high school. Shaq was so much mature at this point.

To call kobe regular is blasphemy and disrespectful...what other 17 year Olds are getting drafted to the NBA 🤔

T-Mac: “I’m putting myself in that!”
Me: You refused to play defense!
@@JahHoopzI know, but it's not a big difference.
@@JahHoopz mj had two seasons in 89-90 and 92-93 where he shot better than Kobe’s career average at 37.6% and 35.2%. And that was before they moved the line closer. So saying kobe was a better shooter from three doesn’t really add up. At the end of the day they shoot about the same percentage from three, and like the original comment said kobe just shot a lot more from deep than Michael ever did. I’m sure if Michael practiced and shot more from three that his percentage would be better than it is. His thing was high percentage mid range shots. Let’s not even discuss defensive stance and resources and yes, the big hands and the athleticism make a huge difference.
@@linorestrepolobo3620 No MJ was not. Mj was more naturally athletic which made it very easy to blow by defenders, shot harder to contend , and dunk on Mount Mutumbo. The part that frustrates me is Kobe spent a lot of hours perfecting foot work only for the game to evolve to where you can pretty much travel and not get called for it. Almost every player shuffle their feet or take too many steps
