I can actually remember Chevrolet had a commercial back in the '70s advertising the horsepower of their pickup trucks, showing one pulling a 4 bottom plow. Craziest thing anybody had every seen back then!
We've plowed and disked with trucks a lot. When tra tractors break fields still need done. Pulled a 2-14 plow like the one in the video with a 300 l6 ford. It did great.
Its an old pull type trip plow most are 2 bottoms 14" or 12" moldboards. Oliver, JD, Massey Ferguson and Alice Chalmers all had one of some kind. The rope running to the driver's side is pulled to drop the plow and again to raise it all while moving. No hydraulics. Hunt around they are usually pretty cheap, and some times listed as yard art
Actually this is a very old idea. I believe Henry Ford used a model T pickup as tractor, International Scout had a PTO on the rear, Land Rover was used for farming too. If this guy would hook up remote hydraulics and use 4 low with Chevron tires it would be a huge tractor.
pto is still an option on f350s from factory. its mainly for running dump beds and generators but you could get the output shaft to the rear if you really wanted
I could of used a truck just like this but was testing out motor mounts, that so many said wouldn't hold up, but I knew what I was doing. everyone was like buy motor mounts but that was $300 I made mine for like nothing much. and I have a broken trans mount but them motor mounts still holding up to that 5.9 cummins. funny video tho :)
Most people are smart in Pennsylvania and use farm equipment instead of using a piece of shit ford, yeah we got 3 of em but we don't use em, I'm just using my "badass" truck. Lmfao
Super clean white ford truck for sale on craigslist. Never towed anything. all highway miles. Feel free to test drive. Yeah. Got 3 tractors he says but im using the truck. Lolol but over all glad he is having fun...
Can't hate this video I once got "roped" into trying to steer a single horse plow with the back wheels off a tricycle attached to the tongue to keep it from diving - this was attached to a truck by 100 feet of rope so that the truck was outside the fence at the rental garden plots. There was a board in the middle of that rope for some reason, so when the rope broke when the plow stopped and the Mack in Lo-Lo didn't - the board would fly towards me. I hadn't thought about that in a while. Its in the running for dumbest thing I ever agreed to do. Funny video. I still think there is a correct way to do this, but haven't seen it yet.
I saw some time ago a dude that had a rental truck that had gps on it, he saw that the truck had funny movement, after checking it up on the gps,he realised the dude rented the car to plow his field LMAO :))
Watched the video ive just got to say that's pretty cool just having good clean fun putting your truck to work.......not even going to read the comments because I know it's going to be full of simple minded people throwing out personal insults towards you and your truck because everyone has to like what they like everyone else is wrong in their eyes it gets soooo old cmon grow up people you like a Chevy or dodge or whatever I like my fords every chevy I've had has been decent at best every Ford has been a tank put through hell and kept on going but if I see someone driving a Chevy Iam not guns be so simple minded and arrogant as to be like what a freaking idiot driving a junk truck .......like really listen how you guys sound and think about it you your talking shit about man and his truck because its not your favorite and without even knowing the man or his truck hence the term simple minded like a child
I've hooked a 21ft 470IH DISC to my 12v cummins 3gear low lock 20in blades bearied to spooles 2 pass in a half mile long feild I had 3 neighbor's stop 1 was a f350 he couldn't make it 200ft said it wasn't fair
The early jeeps would do a lot. There were all sorts of implements and PTO drive attachments. They weren't really built for pulling a plow though, and the drivetrain was overworked in doing so.
Just in case anyone was wondering, the truck is still alive and well
Do you suggest to use the truck for that o not?
👍
Where can I get this plow setup?
go ford we love our old girl

I fucking love the power stroke
One of the prettiest plow jobs I've ever seen
This is awesome. I have a small farm but can’t afford a tractor. What type of plow is that ? Forgive my ignorance, I’m new to farming .
i am dying to know too

I use my old lifted Cherokee and a pull type disc. Works great lots torque and room for my cooler
@@bigteddy66 thanks for the heads up I woulda never figured that out.
This is exactly the kind of video I was looking for and thanks for sharing. I ll make slight change in this process though.
Haha love this. Some good ol boys having some fun getting the job done 👍 great vid!
I like this. it looks good. Some of us might completely rely on this
That's a nice new way of wearing down your transmission and clutch..lol 😆
Tractors have a dry clutch for a reason
hi my fri
I hope you get millions of views. This is funny . WATCH the plow bounces out of the furrow cause your going so fast.

Jason B Whovneeds hydraulics when you have ratchet straps?! Haha
Tyler Tomkins Well true.. Back when that plow was new there was no hydraulics...

So did Willis Jeep

Good job!
Messed up a really nice lawn
Maybe they are planting a garden
SHEER BRILLIANCE! Love it!
When i clicked on the video i was like this is something someone in Pennsylvania would do... "Looks at the license plate" yep explains it all

funniest video for farmer of the year award
Now for some "Yorkshire English". "Now then lad, did tha' actually plough that or did tha' turn some pigs out on it? Cos that's what it looks like! "🤣
made my night . If I weren’t drunk idk what I’d think of this
im gonna try it. thanks for the idea bro
I always wondered why we don’t plow fields with pickup trucks
Because TRACTors have more TRACTion in dirt and mud. They are also a lot heavy dutier than pickup trucks.
I mean Jeeps used to be farm equipment.
@reynoldsr43 recent days pickups more heavier than tractors
Super clean white ford truck for sale on craigslist. Never towed anything. all highway miles. Feel free to test drive. Yeah. Got 3 tractors he says but im using the truck. Lolol but over all glad he is having fun...
We used to do that with a jeep we bought from the government after WW2. Gas 4cyl 3spd 4x4. It was easy then too.
Cummins turbo gas motor?
David Fetzner lol it's a 6 liter powerstroke. Just having a little fun for the vid.
Tyler Tomkins I'm sorry for your loss. I may be early but its bound to happen. A moment of silence for all fallen 6.0's
Only something a found on road dead owner would say because he doesn't know what a real truck is
I smell fan boys in here who can't afford even a base model 4cilynder truck lol
2017 Dodge Cummins? But I can't afford it lmfao
this man is a good farmer
That’s what you have to do when Ford quit making tractors

6 liter 12 valve Cummins!? Holy shitt! I thought I was the only one that had one of those
I heard of Ford's doing many things, but that takes the cake.
PUSHING WET SNOW IS THE SAME

Mr. Originality right here... smh
Where can I get this plow setup?
Alright that settles it. I'm doing this next spring if I get my land lease. With an old slant six dodge
LOL Of course it's in PA! What part of PA and is the truck alive
Wow. Beautiful
Nice title.. Or "How to fuck up nice grass lawn" and the pickup motor in the process.
'How to finish your ploughing the correct way- Fergie class' - U - Tube.
Naw, I think I'll just keep useing my little 444 International. Too much wear & tear on truck for plowing.
I have a IH 444. Nice little machine
I bet that's going to be pretty to disc.
People in the comment section aren’t blessed with a sense of humor 🤦🏼♂️
your exactly right!!
Totatly!
100 percent true
More like destroying field with a pickup truck
A Cummins turbo gas diesel 🤔 sounds about right lol
Crazy Crocodile I thought so too! Lol!
And it's in a Ford! Never heard of it.
That’s the most Texas way to farm
Dude, mom's going to be pissed when she gets home
Shit we did that back inthe 60s with a army surplus jeep Boy you gota be from Greene county
skeets skeets old jeeps came with a rear pto. U did nothing special. Except got to live back in a time before America got ruined
Greene County? I'd say no. No sheep in the picture and sure not steep or rocky enough. I'm guessing Fayette County.
skeets what's wrong with Greene county?
Nah gotta be from Mckean county
3 tractors? can you make one run using parts from all three?
Muy bien por estos muchachos que kieren conoser como trabajaban sus antepasados pero habían de tener algo de seriedad para que aprendan como se hace
I done that back inthe 60s with a 4 cylinder CJ 4
Brother, need to classical ploughing but here missing this.
I'd be the sucker that buys it under the title "low miles" only plowing miles.
Megusta ecselente almirable
Still funny even after an year!

Bad valve. Did you hear the hesitation?
What kind of towing capacity do you need for this
Good day I thought 2 furrow plow pull about 2500lbs.
*Pickup making a mess with a plough.
You wouldn't win any ploughing matches.

that truck has plenty of power doesn't it
Amazing
Not a new idea at all.we had a chopped to the frame feild car that my old man used for all kinds of stuff.good job I say.
I agree with you. Even I got similar idea and was just curious to find out if anybody has done it before and what kind of equipment they towed behind.
The original Hicksville cocky. LMAO

Great job guys! Looks like fun.
Now I wanna see him disc it.
About a thousand times to try to sort the mess. What an imbecile.
why are you tilling up that nice grass
It's called a garden.. the end result is tators and corn on the supper plate next to the deer meat...
can't eat grass...
Pretty sad when people ask that question.
lol i agree Wesley.
MidnightPolaris800. Sick of mowing it.
I wonder who cleaned up the mess
What mess? He's plowing it up 😆.
No,it was a mess

Not on a 6.7 dummy
Dummy
Vincent Forsberg so did I
Casey Kelley that’s not a 6.7....
If I plowed a field that looked like that, my dad would've kicked my ass -
Might want to go back over it with a disc harrow. 🤣
It’s a fun idea but the worst plowing job I’ve ever seen
Esos si me encanta de la Ford que son súper fuertes wow impresionante
Nice and straight even if it ain't quite level
When you ain't got nothin better to do lmao
so much hate on some dudes having fun
Idiot! Even the guy doin' it is taking the piss
wait what? who is an idiot?
Let's see how fun it is when they blow up the engine in their truck because it isn't designed for plowing like a tractor.
Joseph Burke don't be afraid that motor would blow up. It is used in some tractor types.
PH name one tractor that has a 6.0l powerstroke in it from the factory. I’ll wait
Nice,do you have a disc for teh truck?lol
Good job idol👍👍👍
I wonder if the clutch held up for long
Torque converter it's an auto.
So what is it a power stroke or cummins?
Powerstroke not deep enough tone for it to be a cummins
@@777ark8 POWERSTROKE POWER BLOW THE STRAIT 6 OUT OF THE WATER THE CUMMINS IS A GOOD ENGINE BUT NOT AS POWERFULL
Hell ya. Use what u have. Sissy’s sit around and say can’t.
Been there, used a 78 bronco.
That aint a field, thats a backyard

Merica!!
No I think I'm this case it's just "MERCA"!
Or *MURICA
I hope it's a neighbor's golf course.
If you have the time and nothing better to do, why not?
I need to figure out how he did this.
👍👍👍
Its working good
Good luck planting on that

My daddy would have tanned my hide if I made a mess like that.
💪
The cj-2 jeep did the same job.
The early jeeps would do a lot. There were all sorts of implements and PTO drive attachments. They weren't really built for pulling a plow though, and the drivetrain was overworked in doing so.
If you slowed speed it would do a better job.
Reminds me of that grand tour eps
