Our Church never saw the Gift of Speaking in Tongues as weird, but you like other teachers have left out various scriptures concerning this precious Gift.

Speaking in tongues is a gift, and it is not a sign in and of itself. Yes, the Holy Spirit causes this. But I recommend the testing and circumnavigation of any and every spirit that does so before taking their word to heart.
Speaking in " tongues", one spiritual language, is THE sign that a person has recieved the Holy Spirit.
We recieve the Holy Spirit as a direct result of the Holy Spirit baptism.
The fire of God? In our lives...there is no doctrine taught by Paul concerning the "fire of God" burning up ANYTHING in our lives especially when it comes to sin in our bodies. Why didn't the Holy Spirit burn up the prejudice Peter had against the gentile believers inwhich Paul had to rebuke him face to face? If the Spirit burns up sinful behavior in the life of the believer, why do Paul warns us not to grieve the HolySpirit in Ephesians 4:30. I believe the HolySpirit works in our life by sealing us unto the day of redemption and spiritual baptising every believer, also spiritually circumcising every believers spirit from their body of sinful flesh.
