For one reason or another, i often get people eager to put me in leadership roles, despite how much i kept avoiding it as often as possible, going so far as to tell some of those people that i didn't wanna lead, yet half the time i ended up on the pedestal or in the chair all the same. That more or less forced me to keep my life less messy & more coherent to a certain extent, thus benefiting my growth as a person, & though i hate to admit it & would gladly give away my leadership role to another who's more qualified in a heartbeat, some of these leadership roles that i'm in ain't all that dreadful, & i can actually do a decent job guiding others in areas that i've become more familiar with, for their sake & mine.
I also relate to this. Throughout my life, I’ve joined campaigns, organizations, and entered jobs not seeking any sort of leadership position but to just be someone who can provide what I can to help us succeed and utilize myself in the best way I can to help others achieve our common goal. Then, I end up finding myself in leadership positions. Often, it was because nobody else wanted it and I felt compelled to step up so we can keep moving, or it was because I was asked and my initial answer is always, “who? So I take it very seriously while ensuring people know I’m someone who has their best interest at heart too and will make sure they’re heard because it’s the best way for them to hear me if I’m going to lead them and make sure the stuff that needs to get done will get done and in the way that’s functional and professional. I am enamored by your ability to unravel 16 personalities in an insightful and educational way. I'm glad the description of best version of INxJs isn't leader like many other videos for once. I just don't think we're made to be leaders. I don't feel like it's a role we want. Maybe people think that because they tend to say we're inspiring but we work better as counselors in that regard. We stay quite solitary and prefer participating for others from afar.
Personally I don’t want to be a leader. I want to help, motivate and inspire people to become their best selves. But I keep being put in leadership roles lol Like you said, people associate those qualities with leadership.
Yeah exactly, but wanting to help others doesn't necessarely go with leadership. As I said, a counselor role can do it. Becoming a leader is typically more an ENxJ thing.
@@kyurei4478 That's true. There are plenty people who just want to help, who would thrive in supporting roles. I think the fact that some INxJs can appear to be extroverted (at times), causes many to mistakenly assume we are like the ENxJs.
@@xbabygirltx Yeah from what I've seen people tend to consider becoming a leader is cracking their shell and a natural evolution for INxJs but they forget even if they come out of their shell, they'll always be introverts and it doesn't mean becoming an ENxJ. They don't necessarely want to play this role and assume the responsabilities that go with it.
My ENFP husband and I work together synergistically. We are our best selves together, with me embracing change and helping to innovate, and with him doing things gradually and seeing them through to the end. We help each other. - ISTJ
The voyager sounds very appealing, but all the edges of the map have been filled in, and our lives tied down by a mandatory work schedule unfortunately 😂. But if I could pick a time to go back to experience, it would be the age of discovery. Without the scurvy and other various elements of illness of course the exploration of the free world without being in bondage sounds the most therapeutic 😂. Love the videos btw, always a straight to the point analysis ❤️
That's a good point. Although this stretches the meaning of it a bit, a voyage needn't be a physical thing always. It could simply be venturing somewhere new in terms of your ideas, or changing your routines, or expanding in terms of skills. Another aspect of it is that the same voyage has different effects of different people. In that sense, the same journey is never the same journey ~ Nathan
As an infp i have taken on a leadership role a few times, this is where i find things easier to get done. Im good at fitting people into roles that suit their skills and personalities whilst supporting them. Saying all that though, its not ambition that motivates me.
Evolved Ti doms = Yoda 😊 I love evolved version of Ni doms. LOTR have some of very interesting evolved Ni dom characters like Gandalf (INTJ) and Aragorn (INFJ). Both are "voyagers" with purposes.
"I say the world must learn our peaceful ways...by force." ENFP here, working on that "incremental change" stuff I keep hearing so much about. Tbh, it can be a real drag lol
I'm an INFP and I hate nothing more than having people dependent on me. My highest paying job was a management position and it was terrible. I hated every day of it cuz i dont like telling people what to do 😢 however, in your video, you might be talking about a different kind of leadership. Where everyone is motivated by the same thing but can't seem to find a way to achieve their goal. That's when an INFP might step in, in a way, to guide people.
Great video. I truly believe our 4th, oppositional function is the start of us mastering ourselves. I've always believed my Se to be quite strong but it is only so when feeding my Ni - which is fine, good even, but when it comes to using Se in a more pure sense, I shudder. I then think to myself, "I generate such incredible ideas and insights, and I can see the solutions to nearly everything I set my mind to yet nothing comes of it because I do not ACT on it...". What power does Ni have without Se to vehicle it? Every single problem I'm currently facing is due to the neglect of Se. Even Te Polr would start flourishing if only Se were given a chance. I thoroughly enjoy your insights.
Wow. An INTP here, married to... an ISTP! My step kids have named me Buddha. I think they thought I might hate it when they started, but I loved it from the beginning. Love this!
You never stop amazing me on how accurate you are. I am most powerful when I implement incremental changes for a larger overall result. I never lose sight of the bigger picture and actually see jaw dropping results long term years down the road. That ability didn't come naturally, I had to work for ot because I used to suffer from an autoimmune immune condition. I didn't want to be in pain for the rest of my life and bedridden so I started researching what small changes can improve quality of life and long term results. When I found a doctor whose small suggestions for change actually showed results I started implementing more of them. Its been seven years now and I am pain free and symptom free now. I have accomplished more than I set out and I am completely changed from who I once was.
ENFP, really miffed that I had to wait until the end, :P. I started learning to be satisfied with incremental growth/progress/change in my 40's, and to set reasonable goals. I learned this by studying under a Te dominant person. What I still can't deal with, though, is backsliding, reverses, that feeling of being right back where I started from. However, I'm not obsessed with change, either, because I see so many good things that we have left behind, that should never have been forgotten.
Hey Nate, Can you start reviewing Shadow Functions relatively soon? It makes each of the types MUCH more fleshed out and unique to their own time. Especially when using John Beebe’s 8 Function Model and the Cognitive Attitudes of each of the 8 Functions.
Yeah, as an ENTJ who is constantly questioning if I might actually be an INTP, this would be very helpful. This video was just another example of this; I'm a teacher! Though crusader really resonated with me, I BELIEVE in the power in education
I always thought the most powerful version of some of the introverted types is a ninja. And for some extroverts it would be Senate Majority Leader. But maybe my definition of "powerful" is old-fashioned.
What’s interesting to me is the letter you choose to generalize when grouping together. I could definitely see how focusing only on the Hero-inferior dichotomy can point these types towards there “highest selves”, but I believe that’s the input/output, or “outcome” side of things. In terms of the process in which they must reach those heights, that to me seems more in their Parent-Child functions. I’d be interested to see a video (if you haven’t made it already) grouping types by their judging functions instead, and focus on the processes they can focus on to better themselves, even though the results may look wildly different. Edit: well look who commented before finishing the actual video lol, perhaps your method was the wiser, as both parts actually would incorporate the Parent-Child functions, myself first just looking at ISTP and INTP (myself an INTP). I’m trying nowadays to leap a little more than I look, as looking alone holds me back. Good vid! I appreciate you.
Me? A leader? I tried that a couple of times with a Halo clan, and I proved that I was NOT cut out for that kind of responsibility, as I didn't command (heh) authority... I either belong at the bottom of the hierarchy or somewhere in the middle where I'm cozily both a leader and follower
The juvenile quality of the inferior function means that ultimately integration is accepting the childlike part of the self for all of us. Great video as always, very funny opening.
Very interesting concept and kind of hits the spot for me. It might be because of the quite philosophical and always up for debate culture of my country, or growing up with an ENTP brother, but even as an ISFJ, my Ne is oddly high. Because of that, I have been mistaken as an INTP sometimes, but nothing beats my Si, so this makes things unclear. I can't know if that is my "most powerful form", that's debatable and the possibilities infinite. From my personal experience, it includes both the strengths and weaknesses of Ne. While the sense of tangibility keeps me grounded, I can be overly creative (I am an artist and published book author), up for long theoretical conversations anytime and see all the open options and paths, so I can be prepared for any scenario. Sometimes even improvising appears more appealing than going according to a plan that can be stressful to come up with and can also be limiting. But on the other hand that can be chaotic as well and create "plot twists" in my overall very ISFJ behaviour. Say something no one expected me to say or even more often imply things that make even ENTPs go like 😳😏. Also it must be exhausting for whoever talks with me to have to deal with how I combine the detail-oriented Si with the train of thought of Ne. And if we add Ti's overanalysing...my Fe sends them condolences and will "pray" for them. Also some times having a plethora of new exciting ideas can make it hard to focus on one goal or task. So...overall it has both benefits and disadvantages.
I swear Nathan has looked at some view data metrics and noticed that after ENTP portion of his video all ENTPs leave the video. That's why I nowadays know to skip right to the end to see the part I'm interested in.
As an infp i have heard a few video's and they all say the same infp are the most powerful personality type and leader....which is hilarious because i have never ever ever been powerful and most def do not want a leadership role lmao but if i continue down this path of self awareness and learning it would be like something out of the twilight zone...so surreal 😊
I am an INTP English teacher at a Title I high school. I love my job because dealing with all the Fe and Si constantly challenges me, and the administrators are so distracted that my Ne can go wild! It is very stressful, but having a job that requires me to present my thoughts about how to read/write every day means that when I do go home I never lack interesting problems to chew over with my Ne and Ti. You can't procastinate or ignore other humans when you've got to teach every day.
I feel like love who is making more videos that’s been like “most likely to be psychopaths” or “most powerful” He knows his audience, 80% of us are edgy teenagers. I appreciate that the content is still great tho
me, an INTP masking as an ENFP for years- highly exhausting, but at least I've gained some knowledge about forming relationships; if something's needs to be told, it is that saying "yes" to more gatherings and real world adventures can be pretty helpful with becoming a grown(?) INTP ps. did u know that Carl Jung was into astrology? I mean, lately I've come across a 'mbti vs astrology' debate and that piece of an information adds something to it, doesn't it?
yeah sure if only i can answer to any assumptions of yours man like, idk struggling with showing empathy and biting your tongue so as not to be rude sometimes- tbh still not over this one but focusing on asking questions or just silently letting a person to rant about sth can be effective
Inferior functions are fascinating. I related to a few of these so it's hard for me to say where specifically I'd fall. XNTJ has felt pretty close lately.
INFJ here- so why am I such a homebody? I think I have become disappointed in some recent "voyages." Maybe I actually need to go somewhere I want to go for a change? Hmmm....
I don't think the double-down approach (playing only into your strengths) can be sustainable long term when sought exclusively, as welled up energy in the unconscious will bring the devalued functions bursting into consciousness whether you like it or not. In middle age, for instance, and NT type is going to have their Feeling and Sensing functions thrust upon them. If the person doesn't allow these functions room to move and breathe a midlife crisis and depression will result.
A wonderful analysis of the third function of each type. You probably don't realize it, but what you have analyzed is called the analysis of the archetypes of EGO and PERSONA in normality. All the pairs you mention are actually manifestations of a single person in a stable mental state. It is very surprising that for many years none of the typologists have mentioned that MBTI needs to include Jung's theory of Archetypes. This would lead to the next transition to a more complete and accurate description of the full personality type. But the most important step in the evolution of MBTI is the hierarchy of preference development from the most basic in ESTP to the highest in INFJ. To place all 16 types in a hierarchical model and explain why such a hierarchy is obtained is what is needed in the 21st century. In Structural Typology, all these nuances are taken into account. If you want to get acquainted with the next stage of MBTI development, I would be happy to add you to a LinkedIn group where I explain these nuances.
At this point, I'm not sure which videos I have and haven't done, but that one is ringing a bell as one that I have done. Feel free to search it and see if it's there! ~ Nathan

I am ISTP, but my weakness feels more like the ESTP & ESFP one. Well i have this social interaction dont make sense mindset but i just try to ignore it and go with it with some akwardness
The secret to ENTP & 'inspiring' *coughing fit* lasting change is... Give up 100000 times and then try again with slightly new tactics & oomph. By the time you don't care if everyone's dead or alive, you'll see change in your environment/people around you. For example I 'inspired' my co-caregiver into some drastic lifestyle changes and 6 years later, we're there. I stopped giving a f*** 4 years ago, but that’s beside the point 😂
Holy sh1t man as an ENTP i always felt like exactly what you said.. before even i knew i was an ENTP.. Now i will research into what the "incrementalist" means and hopefully implement in my real life , i am too much occupied by procrastination
My ESTJ halfsister final form = Frieza As an ESFP my final form is hangry it’s said that improving your inferior function is done inadvertently by trying to use your demon function and that that is the function that you need to integrate in order to fully realise your potential. Because if you don’t the demon function will continue to wreak havoc in your life.

Oh, that'd be nice! My own perspective, as an INFJ, on common sense is very multifaceted. I despise it, but I also see it as very real and important. You can't live in society completely ignoring common sense, and you'll learn to live better in it if you understand how common sense affects all our views, preferences and choices.
I've heard that a lot from INFPs and ISFPs. INxPs often resonate with the "reluctant leader" archetype if they end up in that role. It's rarely something they seek out ~ Nathan
There have been times when I was kind of pushed into the role of leader because no one else was stepping up (a few group projects). I really didn’t want to be the leader at first but I was bizarrely kind of good at it. It’s still uncomfortable for me though and I don’t seek it out.
NONE of us INFPs can see ourselves as leaders, until we got into it & was able to make something out of it. Like it or not, so long as we do actually talk to people & speak our thoughts, someone would wanna put us in leadership roles at one point or another, either because we're actually the most qualified, or just because we're the ones most likely, albeit reluctantly, to do it. Have faith btw. We may not be excellent leaders, yet we ain't that bad when we do become leaders.
Hi, I know this kinda weird but, what do you use to get thick eyebrows? Whenever I see your videos, my eyes always fascinated to your eyebrows, love them 👍
Hm. Small sustainable changes. That's not exactly satisfying. So an ENFP has to forgo all the fireworks to...get a new tea kettle in the office, or similar. It's like every way to be a good ENFP (good as in virtuous) involves being a frustrated ENFP.
I disagree with the common stereotype that ExTJs lack personal conviction. The problem is that we may start as the most passionate person in the room, but real change takes years, even decades. Humans evolve throughout their lives, and ExTJs are very stubborn and want to see the completion of their goals even though they know deep down that their goals have changed. The challenge is learning when to let go and move on.

@@bytehead904 it takes time to work through this and establish yrself agn, right? My biggest surprise (apart frm how many people you lose after their death) is how far back you have to go to connect with you before them. I'm done sorting through what I want to bring back frm the old me. Now i need to do what I've already known that I needed to do: get goin!
What place are you at in yr grief journey?
@@oldflowertender I've got four kids, and the furthest are 5 miles away from me. My daughter and granddaughter are living with me. Having them around has certainly helped. According to my dreams, I'm at the angry level. I really tore into her about something in the dream. And since I remember that part...
@@bytehead904 oh great tp have them. I have 2 sons that are available If needed.
Angry, huh. I really didn't spend too much time angry. The most anger i had was when i realize I was there for him and his illness and death yet ill likely be alone through mine (no spouse, i mean). That really isn't fair. Grr.
My sons say that it was best he went first, he'd be lost if I had.
Funny, i didn't know they realized that.
I am enamored by your ability to unravel 16 personalities in an insightful and educational way. As an INFP I actually came to the conclusion (about two years ago) that the only way for me to protect my solitude is to create a working system that will provide me agency and independence. I did some digging about the ESTJ as it is my antithesis and learned how to incorporate it's strength. I even created the monicker: Emperor of the Eremites. I'm happy that my conclusion is validated by your insights.

@lovewho that makes complete sense! Thank you for the extended commentary on this idea
As an infp i have taken on a leadership role a few times, this is where i find things easier to get done. Im good at fitting people into roles that suit their skills and personalities whilst supporting them.
Saying all that though, its not ambition that motivates me.
Ngl if Ne doms like me were to minmax and lean into our Ne without traiming our weaker functions we probably wouldnt survive in society lmao
An alternative approach: minions ~ Nathan
@@lovewho I like the way you think mate 😉
Evolved Ti doms = Yoda
😊 I love evolved version of Ni doms. LOTR have some of very interesting evolved Ni dom characters like Gandalf (INTJ) and Aragorn (INFJ). Both are "voyagers" with purposes.
The final form of spiritual guide lone wolf.
"I say the world must learn our peaceful ways...by force."
ENFP here, working on that "incremental change" stuff I keep hearing so much about.
ISTP here. I can teach anyone how to do anything once I've figured it out. But it has to be a one-on-one. Me in front of a classroom is a disaster.
Agree. But we have to go through pain, my friend.
An INTp
Cool so we need to learn how to speak in public and teach. Easy peasy.
Can't speak for INTJ, and maybe it's just me, but as an INFJ, I think SE is fully engaged when we are doing something we care about.
"I concur"- a fellow INFJ
It is. - INTJ
Gandalf was my favourite character when LOTR came out, when I was 15. Appreciate your little insight (INTJ)
Apart from the great value this video holds, I genuinely love the artwork used for depiction. I feel mesmerized for some reason....
Hello i am an young entp , please tell me how i am supposed to be an "incrementalist"
Hey Nate,
Can you start reviewing Shadow Functions relatively soon?
It makes each of the types MUCH more fleshed out and unique to their own time. Especially when using John Beebe’s 8 Function Model and the Cognitive Attitudes of each of the 8 Functions.
Yeah, as an ENTJ who is constantly questioning if I might actually be an INTP, this would be very helpful. This video was just another example of this; I'm a teacher! Though crusader really resonated with me, I BELIEVE in the power in education
Another fantastic, insightful and poignant video, thank you!
i was JUST thinking about you and wondering when we're gonna get a new video !!! so happy right now :)
You summoned me ~ Nathan
I always thought the most powerful version of some of the introverted types is a ninja. And for some extroverts it would be Senate Majority Leader. But maybe my definition of "powerful" is old-fashioned.
Your insights are always so refreshing and generous to all types. Your content consistently sets you apart for me.
I hope to see a "How to beat the ST types" video soon😊
Good vid! I appreciate you.
absolutely mind blowing! thanks
Me?
I loved this video !
This was a really good idea for a video topic especially now, during this period of malaise when many probably feel demoralized and disempowered.
I feel like love who is making more videos that’s been like “most likely to be psychopaths” or “most powerful”
He knows his audience, 80% of us are edgy teenagers. I appreciate that the content is still great tho
INFJ here. The bigger picture destroyed and made me at the same time 😅 also.. you have an extremely posh voice, I love it. 😅😊
I love you man, keep going
me, an INTP masking as an ENFP for years- highly exhausting, but at least I've gained some knowledge about forming relationships; if something's needs to be told, it is that saying "yes" to more gatherings and real world adventures can be pretty helpful with becoming a grown(?) INTP
ps. did u know that Carl Jung was into astrology? I mean, lately I've come across a 'mbti vs astrology' debate and that piece of an information adds something to it, doesn't it?
Oh man I am soooo curious talking to you. Fellow INTP with a mostly boring background.
yeah sure if only i can answer to any assumptions of yours man
like, idk struggling with showing empathy and biting your tongue so as not to be rude sometimes- tbh still not over this one but focusing on asking questions or just silently letting a person to rant about sth can be effective
Wonderful topic! 🙌Teaching us how to evolve to our best!
Glad you enjoyed it! ~ Nathan
Inferior functions are fascinating. I related to a few of these so it's hard for me to say where specifically I'd fall. XNTJ has felt pretty close lately.
Someone did a colour palette analysis 👀
This was a really good video. Thank you!
INFJ here- so why am I such a homebody? I think I have become disappointed in some recent "voyages." Maybe I actually need to go somewhere I want to go for a change? Hmmm....
since the artstyle is kinda cool, do you know the person, who the presumably the ai(if it is ai) referenced it from? I would love to follow them.
Would you do a video teir list on which MBTI would be great Manipulators
At this point, I'm not sure which videos I have and haven't done, but that one is ringing a bell as one that I have done. Feel free to search it and see if it's there! ~ Nathan
An enjoyable video as always 🙌
Great videos, I Like the art you have chosen to accompany each personality type in this one.

You are the only one who gets enfjs
I am ISTP, but my weakness feels more like the ESTP & ESFP one. Well i have this social interaction dont make sense mindset but i just try to ignore it and go with it with some akwardness
Weaponised awkwardness is valid ~ Nathan
You should do a video on the different types and weather they use the left, right or equal parts of the brain hemispheres.
Your voice is so soothing, I basically listen to your videos like asmr LOL
The secret to ENTP & 'inspiring' *coughing fit* lasting change is... Give up 100000 times and then try again with slightly new tactics & oomph. By the time you don't care if everyone's dead or alive, you'll see change in your environment/people around you. For example I 'inspired' my co-caregiver into some drastic lifestyle changes and 6 years later, we're there. I stopped giving a f*** 4 years ago, but that’s beside the point 😂
Holy sh1t man as an ENTP i always felt like exactly what you said.. before even i knew i was an ENTP..

it’s said that improving your inferior function is done inadvertently by trying to use your demon function and that that is the function that you need to integrate in order to fully realise your potential. Because if you don’t the demon function will continue to wreak havoc in your life.
I could listen to you all day long

16 Personalities on common sense, be interesting too me
Oh, that'd be nice!
My own perspective, as an INFJ, on common sense is very multifaceted. I despise it, but I also see it as very real and important. You can't live in society completely ignoring common sense, and you'll learn to live better in it if you understand how common sense affects all our views, preferences and choices.
Same but as an INFJ I like it because I feel like that unites us.
Infp as a leader? Can only just deal with a daily schedule 😂
Great video!! ❤
Ah yes ive been very insecure abt my version 😅 perfect
I can't see myself as "The Leader", RIP
I've heard that a lot from INFPs and ISFPs. INxPs often resonate with the "reluctant leader" archetype if they end up in that role. It's rarely something they seek out ~ Nathan
Ditto. Would rather have a supporting role instead of lead
There have been times when I was kind of pushed into the role of leader because no one else was stepping up (a few group projects). I really didn’t want to be the leader at first but I was bizarrely kind of good at it. It’s still uncomfortable for me though and I don’t seek it out.
Yeah but,
Wouldn't you carry the burden of leadership for the sake of something or someone you love?
Perhaps like Frodo and the Ring.
Leader, Voyager , Crusader, ..and "Incrementalist"!?..ENTP's 😅
I just want to say that it sounds like all of it is Christian Virtues salt and light like a good shepherd, praise God life is easy.

So that's why people suggest I become a teacher
Hi, I know this kinda weird but, what do you use to get thick eyebrows? Whenever I see your videos, my eyes always fascinated to your eyebrows, love them 👍
Lmao being a teacher is the last thing i would do
Hold on, quick question. Did you by chance pick up that little fold up chess set at the markets in Budapest? It looks exactly like mine!
Did you just tell us to incarn our opposite archetype?
♥
Hm. Small sustainable changes. That's not exactly satisfying. So an ENFP has to forgo all the fireworks to...get a new tea kettle in the office, or similar. It's like every way to be a good ENFP (good as in virtuous) involves being a frustrated ENFP.
Obviously xntp and xntj
I disagree with the common stereotype that ExTJs lack personal conviction. The problem is that we may start as the most passionate person in the room, but real change takes years, even decades. Humans evolve throughout their lives, and ExTJs are very stubborn and want to see the completion of their goals even though they know deep down that their goals have changed. The challenge is learning when to let go and move on.
Weirdly enough, as an INTP I relate, especially since I'm also perfectionistic.
Ok i just watched 2 first seconds we are good 😅
what type are you id say intp but you post so consistently I think it must be intj?
