Nursing schools were segregated during that time, I went to Homer G. Phillips in St. Louis 1962 to 1966. It was a school for Black students. Was not allowed to go in Michigan. I am still practicing. Hospital schools were the best.
@Be thank you for that. We had the exact same uniforms, I still have my cape. They were the best schools and the Black schools were underfunded, so we learned to improvise often. It was the dominant cultural system along with the Rockefeller Foundation that instituted the shift to academic education. You notice, it did not affect physician training.
I am going to be a nurse assistant and hopefully some day I work in the surgery as a registered nurse... the nurse who assists the surgeon in surgery.. or /and I want to be a home health nurse.. I want to travel international.. I really hope to be a nurse.. a nurse is like when doctor is not present.. but still similar knowledge.. :) I want to be a registered nurse.. okay. I have to go back to studying after the video finishes. :)) #totustuusmaria
My only advice is 'NEVER' take out a 'Student Loan' to accomplish the dream of ' Registered Nurse'!( The corrupt College loan system is arresting 15,000 people per month that get behind on their loans! They put them in Prison! Taking away their Degree! It is a ' Prison For Profit' system! Beyond evil!!!! Save your money to go even if it takes seven years to do it! Then take a Lawyer with you before you sign onto ANY curriculum! Again these College's try to get you to take more Courses than you need, to literally use up all your money, to then try to get you into debt to finish graduating. ( IF you are determined, you will indeed Graduate! Learning Convalescent- Rehab.Center work is a great way to travel to most U.S.States!)(&) (I hope you are in your twenties, as Nursing is grueling physically, mentally, emotionally!)( May GOD bless and surround you in all your hopes and dreams to be of service to HIM! Amen!)
Nowadays nurses aren't allowed to work on First Aid Gangs that work in the streets they are required to remain in the blood room with donors. Nurses and doctors are not covered by the Good Samaritan Law
I wish nursing educations was still based at the hospital
