I lived in a 1974 VW van for 3 years in the 90's. In 2018 I moved into a motor home for 2 years until I bought a hoarders property in 2020. Watching these videos makes me miss the wandering life.
Hope to see you out on the road sometime. I’ve converted an AWD light blue Toyota minivan that I call the space shuttle. It has a fold-out double bed with room for storing clothes underneath. In the tail gate area I have custom cabinets for kitchen supplies including an electric fridge, back up power supply, and a single burner cooker. It’s quite comfortable for 1 or 2 people. I appreciate your tips for finding just the right small appliances.that don’t take up much room. I’m based in Colorado and love New Mexico, Arizona, and Utah. I would love planning a Canadian trip some time in the not to distant future. Love your shows.
Thank you Lin! Your set up sounds wonderful. If you see me on the road, please stop by to say hi. I’ll keep a look out for a light blue Toyota minivan!!!👀
I love these type of videos! Everybody's needs and wants are different. And it's important to to me why people like things...for survival, for mental health, for memories and just for fun.
Thank you for my much enjoyed "Dose of Dee" it's such a good twist to see the "other" side of van living. I travel a lot and my 4WD is just set up with a swag but it's good for me, quick and easy. Stay safe Dee. I'm already impatient for the next video.😁😁👍👍👍
Thank you Cat! Choco ‘ran away’ (I think he accidentally found his way into the home of a little girl that he was playing with). I’m just happy he is with somebody who loves him too🥰🤫🤗
Thank you so much, Dee, for your delightful presence no matter what it is you’re presenting. I never tired of watching you and listening to you. 😊 This was an interesting question to post to your fellow nomads. It helps the rest of us who are still in the planning phase, so I appreciate it very much! 😊
I feel with every night I spend in my van I learn more and more about my setup and how I like things. That is why I have a non build set up because I can change things easily depending on what I need. Would love to see what you do with your setup
Ooo. I can't wait to see what you have in mind for the back area. I just added another layer to my mattress this week. I had to do some tweaking but I think it will be more comfy now. It is fun to continue with changes and improvements. Good video, as always!
What I didn't like about my van or should I say what I did not like about registering my van in California is that it cost me $2158! My Virginia tags expired and I no longer reside there so I had to establish a permanent California residence in order to acquire new plates...still cost me over two grand. I'll be back on the road August 1st and going to the beaches in Mendocino. While at my sister's home I completely renovated my van. I will replace my 20 liter fridge with a 50 to 65 liter Iceco. Keeping a 55 quart cooler (for bottled water and other beverages) stocked with ice on a daily basis has been costly. I will add a couple lithium batteries and solar panels to keep the fridge running when the ignition is off. This has been a great series, Dee! It helps us pick up new ideas and tips on how to improve our set up. Thank you for sharing!!

Great video! I always love to see how other people do things in their van. My heart goes out to the guy living out of a car though. That would be really rough I think.
Thanks! He loves it. I meet people are here out of choice usually. But, I know there are others who don’t have that choice and my heart goes out to them. I do want to show there is no shame in it as an alternate lifestyle, though, and should never be any shame for those who find themselves living out of a vehicle for any reason.🙂
@@LadyBugout your absolutely right. I didn't mean to imply any shame. Just to me that would be really rough. But hey, I'm the guy who couldn't take it in a FTC just like yours. I discovered that I'm a little claustrophobic and need to be able to stand up. I'm working towards one day being full time in my van. Blessings to you.
It's great to hear the regrets of others. I feel van living is a constant "live and learn" event. Loved the hospital bed pan 😂, if it works it works LOL. Can't wait to see the changes you are making.
Your hair! It's just lovely and it's shining in the sun. Thank you for another great video! Ps. I'm not sure I can holler this far if I spy a deer moving all up on you! Lol

The worst thing I have done was think I could still do it at 71. My first and last trip was a nightmare and so hard with my limited mobility. I used to be Lin Van Go and now I don’t and am going to sell my minivan. It truly is heartbreaking but my second major surgery in one year really took it out of me. We have a heat wave going on here and as soon as it is done will make up the bed and put the camping supplies back in. Weird that Central Oregon is hitting 108’ . Just staying low. Oh I am going to move and the little town will be perfect for getting a three wheel bike with basket on back Then a little commuter for visiting family. Thanks for video…
