If Herod made a secret tunnel from the Roman Fort to the Temple on its south side--and he did, and a Herodian-made tunnel was found in 1867 on the south side of the Temple Mount under the Single Gate, and uncovered again in the 1970s, then the Temple was really south of the traditional Mount, and the Mount is the Roman fort.
As much as I love Jerusalem and the Temple Mount ( I've been there twice), It will be a glorious day indeed when the world realizes who Christ really is! "But I say unto you, That in this place is one greater than the temple." Matthew 12:6
