- This video celebrates 50 years of *Maurice*, published first on 7 October 1971.
Conceived in 1913, first draft finished in 1914, first sexual experience by Forster was in October 1916, when he was 36, novel revised in 1959. Terminal Note written in 1960. The revision was prompted by P.N. Furbank's friend O.W. Neighbour who wondered how Maurice and Alec would find each other now that Alec had not gone to Argentina.
