I'd like to be able to remove that drawer to get the height - I even bought the standoff legs before I discovered they were useless for this. If it comes down to it, I'd cut the middle out of the drawer if I have to. I want to engrave/cut big stuff!

I think the Falcon 2 Pro uses hall effect sensors to detect if the drawer is closed, but I'm not completely sure. You could try putting magnets in place with the drawer removed and see if it powers up. If you do this, be sure to wear laser safety glasses, as the enclosure will no longer be blocking all laser light.

    Can it cut clear acrylic?

No, you need a CO2 laser for clear acrylic. This diode machine does great for opaque acrylics though. You may be able to cut translucent acrylic with it, but I haven't tried to do so myself.

@@DoresoomReviews 😫😫😫 it's painful because I can't afford to have one CO2, I could put some money together and get this machine, but for what I want to work with requires mostly clear and white acrylic

@@flavianojose8423I have the 40w version of this machine and it can cut 3mm white acrylic at 90% power / 4mm/min, 3 passes. The cuts are acceptable and can be sanded to tidy them up. Haven't tried clear yet, not sure if that will work. Translucent might be ok. I'm making panels for my flight simulator, happy to share the results if you like? I'm still fine tuning things.

I started with the Nuka Cola coaster, and then just got carried away and made a whole set. 😂
