I still cant believe that many people say cheaper camera can beat RED cause they thing quality of them equal to RED. But after watching your videos, I know that RED is still above from all cheaper out there on market. OFC, Red cant beat ARRI but it is still No.2 in the world.
I'm in the exact same position. I spent a long long looking into the Gemini, but I was having trouble finding footage I felt had the cinematic quality I was wanting. Then I finally convinced myself to look in to the Helium, even though it's even more pricey, and I don't think I'm looking back to Gemini. I'm thinking about getting the RED Ranger Helium, myself.
Helium will be a lot better. I personally don't like gemini sensor. It has too much magenta, and if you compare it side too side to helium, gemini looks ugly... take a look at this test vimeo.com/263222229
