My personal theory on why china doesn't have great superheavies is because of their selection system. We saw they look at proportions and limb lengths in that video, but superheavies tend to have a pretty different build to lighter classes.
Superheavies tend to need a bit more pull (since they can't receive that low, and even if they can, the margin for error is much less), and having a huge squat isn't as necessary. Which means that having a longer back and shorter legs isn't as advantageous.
Another reason is that short legs + massive bodyweight is absolutely catastrophic for squat depth, which means lifters like Gor or Tank have to pull the bar even higher (despite not being as well built to pull).
There are some exceptions to the rule, like Albegov, Kim tae-hyun, Rezazadeh and of course Gor, but I'd say on the whole, the best supers have pretty average proportions, or longer limbs.

Also about the Chinese women supers being so dominant - I think the reason is that female superheavies aren't actually as strong as they potentially could be. Probably because the talent pool is already pretty small for women, and adding on top of that the amount of women who are willing to bulk up to super is probably much less than men.
I mean the all time records are held by a woman that weighed ~106. Surely the ceiling for women's lifting is way higher.

Another reason related to the selection system:
In weightlifting, a 61kg champion is just as good as a 102+ champion (in terms of winning medals)
In other sports, size matters (for medals)
Big strong athletes with good speed and power genetics are prized in non weight class sports. The weightlifting coaches are competing against volleyball, track&field, basketball, all the other internal systems to scoop athletic talent

Tall Chinese boys get pushed into basketball, swimming, rowing, volleyball, high jump, tennis etc. Only noticeable Chinese heavyweight+ in recent years I know is Yang Zhe. WR in snatch but has a pants CnJ.

@@weshu this is probably true after a certain point, but a true superheavy would probably not excel in many of those other sports. A potential world champion super would probably naturally be 110+ without ever even training or intentionally trying to gain weight, so would probably not be picked for things like basketball or volleyball
I think the argument fits better for countries like America or New Zealand, where the enormous strong mfs get pushed into American football or rugby

43:25 Rather than using a sled on the track, I'd run on one of those artificial turf surfaces or wear spikes and do your sled training on grass.

Hey Lads, top content as always. If you have the time I would love to see you review some other lifts from last week's IPF worlds, there's been a lot of cool battles and lifts including:
    - A three-way tie in the podium of the men's 66kg, with all three totaling 707.5kg and being split by bodweight
    - Russel Orhii being dethroned for the first time in 5 years
    - A bloodbath of a battle in the men's 93kg, with 4 guys going over 860kg, including one lifter who had only 5 hours to do a weight cut due to last-minute visa and travel issues, managing to make weight with 5 minutes left, and somehow putting up a total and being one failed deadlift away from winning it all.
    - Jesus doing a casual 1100+kg total while coming back from injury
    - Agata Sitko doing a 155kg bench as a 76kg female lifter
