    The 3:15 interception punch is amazing from the guy with the blue t-shirt. The guy with the black t-shirt, Harley I assume is very fast and good at dodging. I wish I can get to this level eventually. I only started JKD a month ago.

    Very Good. I saw LEAD STRAIGHT usage in Combos And Intercepts. 👍I saw STOP KICK for interception and as progressive lead.I saw "low kick combos" to open up for the hand blasts.Inner leg kicks for interception, drawing and as lead in combination. I saw attempts at pinning hand traps and saw oblique kick as intercept and repose cover. I saw two skilled guys JKD SPAR. Not kickbox, not movie fight not "mma" THERE WAS A METHODOLOGY HERE. THANK YOU GENTLEMEN. GOOD STUFF.

    • @brucelee6222

      Not really that handntrapping use useful. The way of the interceptimh fist. You have to use then opponents emotional content in order to attack them and intercept. It’s also known as wing chin fist Bruce said do what you could which feels like you. I guess the blue hair guy chose boxing fists which looks best on him where was many other jeet kune do fighters use the hand trapping and wing chin fist like I do. The leg kicks shin kicks and oblique kicks are really powerful and probably one of the main concepts other then wing chun

CLEARLY boxing works for him so why would be do something that doesn't work for him. His JKD will look differently than yours or someone else's even though the same tools are given.

    Evading is better than defending like wing chun . You Just need to have a good footwork, focusing on main targets like eyes , groin and knees instead of hand trapping. Bruce Lee hacked away hand trapping in late jkd. Simplicity,efficiency and shortness 👌
    The man in blue T-shirt was more successful because he focused more on attacking to vulnerable targets instead of hand trapping and wing chun techniques.👌
    Also The shorter man was so good at attacking to the knees and intercepting his opponent from punching .👌
    Wing chun Hand trapping is so useless. It doesn't stop your opponent attacking you therefore you get lots of hits. Furthermore you can not recognize that where you opponent's hands come from to defend or maybe catch them and then attack as the wing chun principle. That's why Bruce removed wing chun and used boxing and fencing principles instead.

  • @AliothAncalagon
    @AliothAncalagon 6 лет назад +1

    First off, great to see actual sparring.
    But I guess you guys feel how even in this scenario with hardly any contact at all your entire punching game had nothing to do anymore with what you actually do in your drills.
    This is usually a sign that you carry useless theory around with you.

    • @lakerstekkenn
      @lakerstekkenn 6 лет назад +1

      That depends on how you decide to attack and counter against different opponents using different styles and confusing someone with different striking and kicking attacks from Wing Chun a boxing and kickboxing.

    • @AliothAncalagon
      @AliothAncalagon 6 лет назад

      Obviously they decide to ignore everything they did in their drills.

    • @jean4j_
      @jean4j_ 6 лет назад +1

      Drills are just drills
      They are not techniques. Nobody should expect to land complex wing chun trapping on a real fighter. But they do give you the ability to keep flowing and adapt to your opponent.
      Now it's true that it's too much practiced during classes

  • @lakerstekkenn

    Good teacher and good students, also block them punches with your hands and check them kicks without looking down and stop moving your head so much and use your arms and hands to block punches it takes energy to keep moving your head and body.and it's not necessary unless your overwhelmed and have to, and stop moving so much and stand your ground and place your kicks and punches in the right striking era and take those dame shin guards off you legs, you don't need them them kicks don't hurt that bad and you get use to them anyway for Thai kickboxing sparring or fighting. We would kick each others shins all day without guards.
    Also when using your gates to attack you better throw those Wing Chun strait fist with serious damage and power and don't just settle on being fast like Bruce and lack any power, it's power first and speed will come, but timing beats speed and power beats anybody. Because you hit someone with those windshield wiper slaps and they are going to laugh and keep coming, but you hit someone with a serious power strike using your hips and shoulders, they look and wave their hands telling you nope i an done your to good. Throw those punches like right hands and left hooks.
    Also Bruce had serious crushing power ask Dan, he tells you.

      This is the same as your UFC fighting dumb ass without grappling being used and yes JKD teaches and does grappling sparring with striking just like MMA, why do you think Bruce is called the father of MMA, because he was a jujitsu and judo black belt and student of wrestling and grappling martial arts along with small circle finger braking jujitsu.

    Could have been faster, even for sparring. Both combatants had improper reading as well as stance. Although the individual in the blue shirt had superior stance, it was still not appropriate especially in conjunction with his counters and striking. Entertaining sparring and good to see practice.

      Chris Vargas They are just lightly sparring bro, I thought they both had a pretty solid technique and nice footwork. Ill bet that both of them have had extensive training with both knee and elbow strikes, they just weren't training in close quarters or grappling

    • @lakerstekkenn
      @lakerstekkenn 6 лет назад +1

      I guess you want to injure your own head when it isn't necessary and knees are used for leg kick blocking and we in Chinese Gung Fu really don't use knee striking unless your grappling or have head control pulling your head down, those knee strikes in thai kickboxing are for scoring points and not for power knee striking, because the striking angels are to difficult to land clean blows unless you pull their heads down and hit the solar plexus , or groin or abdominal blows stomach and the head nose mouth and eye socket thai knees are close quarter striking techniques and not your side knee strikes they use in point fighting.
      Elbows are totally fine and effective techniques but should be done after power striking and to cut and strike certain body parts. Not just swinging wildly and everywhere.
      Remember use proper placement and timing of striking techniques and not just wildly throwing haymaker strikes with no proper placement to do serious pain and damage and remember to actually set-up traps to land clean effective hurting strikes just like boxers do, Chavez sr and his body fight ending liver and rib shots and temple and behind the ear knock out blows and don't swing like your drunk. How do you think professional fighters end fights in one round with a simple body blow against highly trained body conditioned fighters who have rock hard abdominal s ? They strike proper weak points on your body like your liver, now imagine how much damage they could do to a um-conditioned fat flabby body that would vomit if hit with a body shot.
