Honestly some of NECA's finest work in this scale for their movie figures. Yeah, Predator and Aliens are their staple, but this in particular I think they excelled at. I think it helps that they are probably sculpted at 1/4 scale and they simply shrunk it.
Umm ya the original suits are still WAY better then the CGI garbage they came out with in the remake still to this day the original still holds up sorry to tell you other wise now if you wanna talk about the sequel or the insanely terrible third ... then can’t argue too much with you on that one lol

The 2nd one isnt so bad, I enjoyed the jokes and goofy shit. But the fighting in 1 and weapon use and straight up other bits of violence made it the BEST BEST BEST.
I've completed my tmnt 1990 movie action figures (meca) on Thursday which I've collected and its starts with Michael angleo (mikey) comic con, Leonardo (leo) ebay online, Raphael (raph) all express online and and not least...donatello (donnie ) forbidden planet . Theres are awesome realistic action figure and this film realase in cinema in March 30th 1990 🙂🙂
As I have always been a diehard TMNT fan growing up as a kid back in the days when the ninja turtle toys we're super popular and selling fast I have the original Michaelangelo toy, Super Mikey aka: Superman lol I also have Rocksteady, 2003 TMNT Raphael, BUT most of all the 2015 or 2016 Ninja Turtles Movie toys including Shredder back home. I love them! :D
Great review, just picked up my preorder today, Fantastic figures once you get the articulation loosened up, there is also a really good ankle swivel, just be very careful switching hands, the peg is hard plastic, but the hand is a softer rubber, and the little strut that goes through the peg can tear, had it happen to two hands already, luckily only one side ripped, so they can still be used for poses, but I can see it being an issue over time.
I know we are all excited to dig into these figures and have fun posing them and making up new adventures and whatever else we can think of, but I'm in no hurry to open mine, they are staying right where they are, in their boxes, safe and sound. Besides, I like how NECA designed the boxes for these figures just as much as the figures themselves, it is a huge improvement over the abomidable figures that we got from Play Mates, both action figure and package wise. Now we still need 7" scale figures of Raph in disguise, Foot Soldier and Shredder with the only character on my "want list" from the first movie who hasn't been released yet being Casey Jones. I also wouldn't mind seeing figures of Razhar, Tokka and Super Shredder from Secret of the Ooze in this size. Although, actually, they would probably be about 9" tall each, but it would still be sweet. Lol!
It's your Money! But Kinda Ridiculous to Spend 50-60 Bucks a figure Only for them to Just Sit in The Box. Pretty Pointless. And I Know these Turtles aren't Cheap. Seems like a waste to Spend all that Bread just to Keep em all Boxed up! But again it's your Call.
They are releasing all 4 in Canada at EB Games. You can Pre-order them now. As for the nunchuck can go on Michelangelo hand but on a different version just like Raphael’s coat.
My favorite of the first set (88) was Donatello. He just looked so fierce. But I love Raph and Leo nowdays. I wish that Mikey had a spot for his nunchakus on his belt tho

Question: Does a Neca TMNT box always have the GameStop sign on it or not? I got a, according to my eye, a true Neca set but the boxes don't have the Only @GameStop sign on the boxes. Plus what's funny, my Leo has his lower shell line slightly bending. :)
Haha, your Leo got 2 left feet. BTW, it was Casey that was cutting the veggies in the movie, not April. I can't believe how negative you are about the movie...I'm shocked. STILL my favorite hands down. It was a low budget movie and came out way before they could do what they can now with special effects AND costumes...so for its time it kicked ass. If you heat them up or run them under hot water, which is my preference, you'll loosen up the joints a bit and unlock some points you missed. 👍
While that movie didn't really age well in terms of story, dialogue and acting, it is still a fun movie. I enjoy the first two films. And the suits still look great, even today. Otherwise thanks for sharing this with us. I bought mine last night, and I love these figures. I missed my chance of getting them at San Diego Comic Con. Now I'm happy I have them in my collection. Fingers crossed that they will release The Shredder and a Foot Soldier in that same scale.
These are the turtles ive been looking for, wanted accurate movie versions since i started collecting again just over 5 years ago, and these are basically what i imagined then, just hope i find a way of getting them here (UK)
..it would be crazy if they made Casey Jones but they would need the actors likeness rights...keeping the mask unmovebale would even be ok with everyone i guess!
If you'll hit the hips with a hair dryer you'll be able to greatly increase the range of articulation, including splits! You also missed the upper ab swivel that lets you turn the torso and lean forward a bit. Nice review overall though.
It's funny because you can see the quality of the sequels go down by how the turtles first appear on screen. In the first one you get that dark battle and a glimpse of some eyes through a manhole and then only see their shadows as they walk and celebrate. You don't see them just yet and just as they are about to jump into frame you get that freeze frame TNMT title and BOOM they appear and the suits are amazing and the music and all! Second movie... well they just casually walk down some stairs out of nowhere. Jump in the air. Freeze frame TNMT II title and music theme. The suits are not as good but not bad either. Third movie... the turtles... are dancing... TMNT III... more dancing...
My brother gave me Mikey, Raph and Donnie tonight. My mother bought me Leonardo when we got home. He should be here before Dec 7th. The joints are SUPER stiff. I m a bit afraid. And I believe there are 30 points of articulation
Great review of the turtle brothers. My favorite is Raphael the bad ass turtle always ready for a fight. I would love to see a Splinter, Shedder, April, and Casey Jones made by the same company that made the turtles.
Out of the 4 turtles, Raphael is the only one who has cuts and dents on his shell. He really is the brawler of the group. I'm glad Neca put that much details into him. They could have just used the same shell for all 4 and most wouldn't have noticed.
Glad to see Donatello has the ties for the staff. The SDCC version lacked them for some reason. I’ll probably tie mine snug on the staff and then superglue it to keep it from coming loose. Little sad that it doesn’t come with the TCRI (was kind of curious if they’d have it correctly have TGRI as it was in the films) and the other half of the pizza and the box. Ah well. I can’t wait to get these. Mine should come in later today.

Love these sets but only thing that i didnt like was the elbow pads are tight and hinders from moving them in a pose u would like and the belts are too high to their chest but over all i say 9/10

Good luck with finding someone that will sell these for under retail at $22. They were $22.99 (plus shipping) on GameStop's site. Long sold out online..and good luck finding any single figure in a store. For the people out there that have already called their local GameStop's..it's gonna be $50-100 per figure on eBay. Man, that is ridiculous! After talking to some employees, doesn't look like at any point they'll be filling their stores with these guys. NECA needs to take note of this and produce more more more lol.

Playmates has some decent looking turtles too when they are not based on the shitty CGI designs but all their figures still only look like toys. It work for the cartoon version of the figures but the movie ones by Playmates are an abomination. Neca freaking nailed them. If Playmate is smart they need to do a collaboration instead of a no competition.

This is one of the best most comic accurate adaptations ever produced. It has held up extremely well given zero CGI.

There's definitely a torso joint under the shell. It obviously doesn't really work for ab crunch, but you do get some side to side with it.

Got the sdcc set, and man, hands down they look amazing and better than almost all the figs i have displayed! These figs are perfect!
You can actually get a little bit of articulation in the mid-section but not outside of the shell inside of the shell Wiggles arms

In the first movie it was TCRI, but in the second it was changed for some unknown reason to TGRI
Hm. I don't recall it ever showing the stamp on it. I know they looked different between films (more metal in TMNT and glass in TMNT 2).

The level of detail and quality these figures get you for $20 makes the quality of the same priced Star Wars Black series look like garbage.
