      serious question! i have a trx250ex 2005 Honda. it doesn't start or i think there's an electrical problem or something in the motor like magnets or electro? i have no idea its been sitting for 2 years, anything u suggest i don't have money to really fix it but i was wanting ideas to help get it running again. i tried new battery and solenoid with testing wires and had no luck:(

      I had a Toyota Celica that did actually experience a Lazarus revival after a yard sit of that amount of time. But the battery is now 100% dead and will not take a charge at all. How did it go from having enough juice to dead and can't be recharged in under 1 minute? LOL... Speaking from experience here, that gas tank is going to rust back up in no time. The muriatic acid removes the rust and etches the metal to a clean surface but then there is no protective layer so it will flash rust instantly ( I've seen it happen in under 5 minutes after rinsing it with water). Instead of rinsing it with the water, rinse it with a solvent such as mineral spirits and then you must seal the tank right away.

    Those old 350s with the tank under the seat are beasts, but they don't like to start very well. Mine instantly floods, even with the carb run dry. Burn the plug off and it's good for the day..

      The fuel tank shut off valve obviously worked.
      The tank can get as full of water as it likes...
      but with that valve shut..
      it can't destroy the rest of the system...

    • @c.mcdermo
      @c.mcdermo Год назад +1

      @John Smith right but if someone ever tried to start it without draining the tank first it'd draw water into the engine causing some issues, this one just got lucky that never happened

    Was a victim of a hit an run from a kid. Hit me head on at about 15-20mph I couldn't do anything at this point because it was a narrow trail and he destroyed my Hondas front end and my right arm cause I was holding the handle bars. I needed to get to the hospital still and wasn't going to take an expensive ambulance so I gave my key a turn and pushed the button and it fired right back up and got me to the hospital driving with my left arm keep in mind. My Honda now is in better shape than my arm after some body work and still runs strong and hasn't died ever. 👍🖖

    Almost always a small engine is just a dirty carb. Over here in Michigan people say, “ oh it’s the spark plug, have you changed the spark plug.” That’s all u hear over here. No it’s not, there’s only been one motor that I’ve had that issue with. There was a crack in it.
