Feel like this could just be 10 minutes of Peter Forsberg. Dude was incredible....and I say this as a Wings fan who grew up in that rivalry. What a player
Dude was a straight monster, I remember one of the red wings players being interviewed, maybe Draper? But he said it felt like he was hit by a train when Forsberg hit him.
Agreed! He was one of a kind. Until him, we had never seen a player be that physical and skilled in combination. I mean, he could tackle an opponent to take the puck, reverse hit another and then send a perfect pass. Incredible, and very rare today. Also, only the fans, coaches and players of the opposing teams know how good a player someone is. They know by remembering how much fear and respect the player commanded.
Love the Datsyuk highlights. The dude was an absolute magician with the puck on his stick, but he could also carry his own in a fight (as seen against Corey Perry) and shrug off checks. He might not have ever played for my favorite team (Coyotes), but he was easily my most favorite player.
@@anonymousrex5207 : 0_0 Wow, didn't know that! Wish they'd brought him on board. We might still miss out on the playoffs here & there, but he'd sure help us not suck as much back then, haha!
These kinds of hits are my favorite because there's almost no way they can be cheap, unless a guy puts hit stick up for a cross-check to the teeth. It's just a great way to show why keeping your head up is important. Thanks Jens for cranking these out so often lately!
I was getting ready to complain that you didn't have any of that master's counter checks, then you end it with multiple glorious shoulders by Datsyuk. Well done.
Some of these seem physically impossible, but I think the common element in most of them is the supposed hitter mis-times the shifting of their weight and is actually off-balance at the moment of impact. Some of them are because they gave up on the hit or the guy supposedly getting hit moves into the hit first or plants their feet at just the right moment. All of them are pretty funny. Thanks for putting these together - I can't imagine how long this would take just to find all these clips.
Those of us who were blessed to see Pavel Datsyuk play... we know who we are. Far side, top corner, backhand from 20 feet away with a dude on you back. One of the most incredible goals ive ever seen.
If you watch all of them you can see how they are countering hits with better footing and leaning forwards. When I played for the Woodland Mustangs I was always taking hits like the big guys despite my small stature using exactly what I just described, foot stance and lean forward
Welcome to another episode of this was supposed to be a longer compilation, but it's way past my bedtime so I gave up. I hope you enjoy the video!
We played with you I gave you a shoutout
Maybe you can do weird angle goals?

Hey goalie
Eat...drink....sleep hockey....!
Pavel Datsyuk was a once-in-a-lifetime player who cut himself short in the NHL. Some would say, the wings haven't been the same since. I would agree
Our whole team retired from the pavel days, so yeah we haven't been the same lmao
"A la Barry Sanders" 😔
Cut himself short wtf does that mean? Won everything got bored and left?
Agreed. I wish they put I’m in NHL 21 as like a wings alumni
@@boundarysentinel4181
(In the NHL) Im just referring to the actual literal time he would've potentially had left. ✌
So what we've learned is to not hit Oshie or Chara or you'll be the one getting hit.
Or Forsberg
Reaves too. Or he'll knock your ass out if you do manage to knock him down.
Or datsyuk
or Ristolainen
Or Byfuglien...
“Rattled his fillings” there’s one I haven’t heard in ages
Once you feel it you never forget it
Mickey is a legend.
You should watch more gay porn.
Mickey has to be the best color commentator in the NHL hands down. Fans from all over the league always say that haha
@@moif oh
Ristolainen is immovable object! Dude dropped ovechkin like sack of potatoes
Icon of Sin and probably the best guy in the league with the “reverse check”
Icon of Sin funny tho cuz Drouin reverse hit him a while ago and Ovi injured Drouin. One of those weird triangles
I think it's kinda sad that you hear so little about Ristolainen. Such a great player.
That only happens when ovi underestimates. After getting dropped by chara and Malkin, he came right back and freight trained them both
Lmao McCabe was laughing after the Hall hit
I was there and they were having fun because they won 7-2.
@@armandelefante5607 that game was so much fun. I've never been to a more hyped game
@@jackdallo9464 Ya I was in the second row and was in front of all the action and hitting
And now they’re teammates lol

Datsyuk is an absolute legend
Absolutely
Man I miss hockey
glaxko2 man I miss that team you have on your icon there
I'm lonely Please help:damn I was gonna make a joke about it
Well it’s it’s back for me yayayyayaay
Do u miss ur team too

the Coyotes did own the rights to Datsyuk for a few years when he was playing in Russia, even though he never played a game for the team.

Forsberg was the master of this, first player I can remember doing it.
10 minutes of Oshie showcasing his strength
love how mccabe just smiles after hitting hall
And now hall is his teammate
4:42 not often is Kronwall the one getting knocked down
One simply doesn't...
...hit the Kronwall.
He Kronwalled Kronwall!
No, he ended up on his butt a lot though. Especially toward the end when his knees were shot.
Wait that's illegal
not often enough
I just knew there would be a couple of Peter Forsberg offensive tackles in this one!
I didn't want to like your comment because you have 21 likes, get it?

Of course I get it!
Yeah 4:03 was the first that made me audibly gasp
1:05 i cringe every time I see that
Yeah, no open doors during play should be the rule. That's so brutal, and could be worse.
@@MetalAsFork how they supposed to get to the bench then
@@ukkeliskukkelis8971 Hop over the wall, they do it all the time. No reason for that door to be open during play.
ukkelis kukkelis bro... go over...?

Ah, the bizarre physics of the reverse hit. It's like when someone gives you "air" when you're jumping on a trampoline together.
Peter the Great dropping the puck in the corner to demolish Ferraro and go back to his puck was savage. That guy was a hungry wolf on the ice.
Watching this is so satisfying.
I was getting ready to complain that you didn't have any of that master's counter checks, then you end it with multiple glorious shoulders by Datsyuk. Well done.
@Jens95 you're the greatest for getting some Forsberg classics in there
The whole time I was thinking, where’s datsyuk?? You saved the best for last I love it 👍
Love the Datsuk ones at the end. 😍
1:54 I spit out my coffee
why is this so satisfying
Must be the best feeling ever
Datsyuks were a thing of beauty
Unless you’ve already done it, you should do Players injuring themselves (failed hit/dirty play)
Reminds me of Alex Carcillo tearing his acl on a hit where he hit a person from behind
The Hambugurlar he did I’m not saying he didn’t

I could watch these all day 😂
Peter Forsberg was a beast! Best ever in my book 👍🏻
I was writing a comment already waiting for pav osh and foresberg lol . Pav also got charazard with one : ) . Great video
This is the content we needed. Thank you!
Love these kinda plays. Solid hockey without anything dirty
that koivu one was smooth af
I definitely would love to have a part 2!
I just love these.
Legitimately shocked to see zucharello in this
I’ll never forget when I got reversed hit. I had a shit eating grin on my face thinking I had this kid lined up but nope, he rocked my ass lol.
F
This is my favourite thing, you're a legend
Pasta can do it all.
didn’t know Oshie was the GOAT of the reverse hit
7:18 good ole Drai
man i love when risto does it lmao
Best video ever
Always happy to have another reason to love Oshie

That hit by Wayne tho 0:49
0:25 that was entertaining
Mcdavid standing up takuck after he gets reversed hit is golden trámate protection
2:51 I can watch this on repeat all day
@The Hambugurlar Tkachuk being hit. He's my least favourite player
Peter Forsberg such a beast in every aspect
Great way to finish off the video by including the magic man
Oshie is always solid👌🏽
“Cheapshot of the game”?? The engelland hit was clean
Kadri try to hit Buff🤣🤣, limp to bench in pain, regret and much less motivation 🤣🤣4:48
Nothing better than Lucic detroying Emelin, who was out for the season with a blown out knee. Love it!
Loved Byfuglien one behind his net. "Nice try chump!"
Recently became obsessed with reverse-hits after Schenn (which ever one is on Vancouver) got flattened by a McDavid reverse-hit on Saturday’s game.
Only two clips of Forsberg? He was the king of the reverse hit.
More of this please. Part 2???
Peter Forsberg started this❤️
Foppa!!!!!!!!!!!
3:53 Ovie caught some serious air.
Oshie = legend. Let’s Go Blues!
Announcer channeling his inner Jackass Edwards on that Engelland-Steen hit at 2:25. Homer much?
YES i love the MacKinnon/Palat hit
What the hell happens when Forsberg and datsyuk try to hit each other???
What do you think causes earthquakes? Lol.
@@woodchuck1946 lmao
Oshie had some nice ones in the finals a couple years ago.
It appears that Oshie and Risto are kings of the reverse hit.
0:01 “shut your hole, Skinner!”
the lesson here kids, is don't hit Oshie, Byfuglien or Chara.
Go blues, go oshie, man I miss oshie
Gotta love Oshie, he can dish it and take it.
50% Oshie, 40% Ristolainen, 10% other players.

Edler on McKinnon was a good one people dont realize how solid edler is on his skates

Need a part 2 one of my favs pk getting stood up by scheen
8:44 that transitions tho (volume up”
Pavel Datsyuk is like the cherry on a cake🍒🎂🍒
should be called the forsberg hit
4:05.... Forsberg was the beginning of a reverse check in my mind....
The number of reverse hits tj oshie has is impressive
Playing hockey growing up I was always overweight. This was my signature move right here. Don't gotta be the fastest if no one can knock you down.
even if they did get reversed they still did there job at slowing the other man down so good on them
I hate Boston, but Chara’s shutdown of Ovie rushing him was nice to watch 😂
Where's the one with Datsyuk behind the net against I think it was the Preds? Cold shoulder right to the chest, corner camera guy caught it.
Anybody: what did we take away from this video?
Me: NJ Devils are terrible at checking..
Lol Ovi got rocked
Video should be called Oshie, Ristolainen and Datsyuk hitting people lol
Datsyuk and Kronwall, those were the days.
greenyawgmoth yah we should have won more too
Surprised there was only one of Douglas Murray on here, he made a living at doing this.
Could do a compilation of reverse suicide passes/hits? Like the guy trying to check the “unsuspecting” skater gets his shit rocked.
0:25 And now they’re on the same team
2:31 announcer needs to be fired
Forsberg was the teacher. Oshie and Ristolinnen are his best students.
i love doing this to people 😂
