  • After failing on my first Rear Diffuser purchase I went out and purchased the Rear Diffuser from ZL1 Addons. I'm really digging the look it's subtle yet aggressive and is functional as per the ZL1 site.
    Even though some of the surfaces are a teeny bit rough for my hyper critical OCD and the plastic is darker than the stock valence it's OK from viewing height. I'm not knocking the product I just like to make people with heightened OCD like myself aware of exactly what they are getting so they can make informed decisions.
    It's priced perfect for the look and functionality and I am really impressed with the no drill install. It looks like a lot of thought went into designing this product and I can honestly say it's money very well spent. Great product ZL1!!!

    The threaded holes on the rear cradle near the rear differential are on 2015 & 2016 1/2 models (don't know about yrs prior) . FCA changed to non-threaded holes mid 2016 for some odd reason. The defuser looks awesome on your ride man. Most differential braces require a good amount of torque & I don't think that a brace/defuser combo would allow for both to work properly. I will keep my pre4ormance Development brace. Thats just IMO.

    • @WorkPlayDrive
      @WorkPlayDrive  5 лет назад

      I'm thinking a threaded insert with the same shear strength and a nut to hold down the brace would work then cut down the standoffs and install the diffuser.

    Nice video. I'm getting ready to order this. Your car's obviously bagged, however, my SRT is lowered a couple inches. Do you think the diffuser will be in jeopardy of hitting the ground when navigating driveways?

    • @WorkPlayDrive
      @WorkPlayDrive  Год назад

      With one or 2 inches lower most driveways will be perfectly fine as long as you go with their standard diffuser. I usually drive about 1.75 inches lower than stock and didn’t have many issues.
      The times I did hit the ZL1 diffuser is really sturdy and other than a few scuffs out of sight she was fine.

    I have the same diffuser on my RT Shaker. I personally think that ZL1 should have used the same pop rivets they used for the wicker bill would have made it easier and quicker in my opinion to install. I also spent about an hour installing it and I think with the pop river set it would have take maybe 15 minutes to do it. That’s just my two cents. I do love the look and I honestly could feel the difference in my ride.

  • @DKLabs99
    @DKLabs99 2 года назад +2

    I realize this is a few years old, but why not just bend the metal instead of using those 2 standoffs near the differential? Seems like it would be a better fit no? Just an observation based more on ZL1’s design. You’re channel helped me decide on my Challenger T/A 392. 🤘🏻

So, I gave it my best and now I have an usable tool. Their epic customer service response was "well, no one else had a problem with it." Nice! Would you recommened any of the 392 challengers over another? (T/A 392, Scat Pack, SRT 392, etc...). I'm debating on trading in my SXT and not sure if I should shoot high for a Hellcat or be happy with a 6.4L or even a Camaro SS etc...

    • @WorkPlayDrive
      @WorkPlayDrive  5 лет назад +2

      I can't speak for the camaro but as for the Challenger this is up to you. I love my Scat pack, but the whine of the hellcat is addicting. if you can afford the hellcat without it being a burden go for it. As for the 392s you have 2 things to consider. the body style and the included packages. The differences in the models would be the suspension (active vs static), tires (245 vis 275 wide) and brakes (6 piston vs 4 piston) in 2019 I believe you can stuff all those options in a scat pack ;)

      The 392 is a lot of power. It more than meets my needs. If you race and plan to build up the car It’s not the best choice if you plan to add boost later.

    • @hellcatpekes8974

      EBsting if you want to keep up with the other sports cars (vettes etc) you're going to have a much better starting platform with the Hellcat. Then mod it with a pulley, tune, E85 etc and you'll be in the 9's and destroying other cars. :)

    handle any differently? for non-bagged cars, scraping on uphill driveways should be a concern?? interstate mileage increase? all of these diffusers look like they catch air, even this one, any windtunnel or colored smoke tests done with these things?

    • @WorkPlayDrive
      @WorkPlayDrive  5 лет назад

      I don’t see any issue with non lowered cars and scraping I only scrape when lowered 2” on my driveway.
      I would assume it’s less resistance. The bumper catches air like a parachute. This guides the are past that lowering the resistance at the rear of the car.

      My driveway sicks for low cars and at stock height this does not scrape. With the redeye I would not recommend the deluxe version, it's much lower and definitely scrapes.
      I've been driving with this one for a few years now and it is made extremely well.
