Originally LAFD called these a Heavy Utility and now a Heavy Rescue. If you have time do a Google search. One of these was painted yellow and later repainted white over red. That was 1968 CROWN it had a HALL SCOTT 1091 gasoline powered motor. The transmission was an Allison Automatic. Later this was re-powered with a CATERPILLAR diesel motor. I don't know the hp? It had a HOLMES Wrecker with 2-20 ton booms. The 1974 MACK that was painted white over red had a MACK V8_375 hp diesel motor, MACK_10 speed manual transmission and a HOLMES 850 Wrecker. This is the third PETERBILT Rotator the city has owned and this rescue is a 2016. Have you seen the heavy rescue LACoFD has?
