In germany we call it classic strikers or classic forward. you wont find many german forwards that dribble well or have pace but are beasts in terms of positioning and finishing. klose, klinsman, werner, gomez, draxler, brandt, bierhoff

Muller is the reason Bayern's front so lively and active. He not only assist by giving balls but his positional as well. Hey, he's not even wearing fancy numbers and he's a regular. Bravo
When trying to understand the genius of Muller, 4:20 explains it all. Where as 99.9% of players would have shot the ball after that Kimmich backheel, Muller laid it off to lewandowski who was way out of his eyesight. Essentially what Muller does is he optimizes scoring opportunities. Muller can receive a chip ball over the defense's line and be 1 on 1 with the GK, and he'll lay it off to an oncoming runner behind him. Most players get tunnel vision in the 18 yd box, and try to shoot and any chance, Muller remains calm, and he uses his high IQ to pick out passes for open players who will have a better opportunity to score. Although his assists may seem easy in terms of the skill required, the intelligence and vision too make these assists is what separates him from others, and what makes him special. When watching a match, many times if you pause an attack in an 18yd box, you can see players who are open because we see the game from a wider view and are able to see everything on the pitch, on the field you don't see the same things. However Muller sees the game like a spectator watching it from a higher angle, he somehow is able to see players around the 18yd box and the gaps where his players will run into
