Don't let the harshness get to you, this is a perfectly good video, but the older format ones were so beautifully done with the edits, still life shots and music. It's a little jarring to some I guess.
Not really a fan of the live/listen to blathering about this and that. I miss the old format of doing the shoes and talking about the shoes. I used to watch all the videos, I'm probably watching 1 in 5 now with the new format. Just one guy's input. Love the work when the work's getting done.
I do agree with you, I do not have the time, neither the will to spend 30 minutes or more watching someone restoring shoes. Just give me the basics and show me how to do it, which usually takes about 10 minutes; it is not rocket science.
Watching in real time helps me know how long it should take to complete each step (and not feel like I’ve missed something along the way). Not what I want to watch all the time, but it’s kind of therapeutic to not be rushed, seeing someone take pride in their work. I feel a little bit like I’m sitting there with him and I could have a table set up right across from him working on a pair just hanging out.
The old videos were amazing. I think those who watch live and can get questions answered in real time probably enjoy it the most. I like his recommendations. Consider how busy he’s gotten with family and business, I doubt he has the time to write and edit videos in the old style. A bit of a comprise, but it still has some charm.
Boy oh boy what a rough crowd ! Personally I enjoy a variety of shoe related video’s and this one was no different . I’ve had the luxury of meeting Preston and he is a genuine person interested in sharing his unique perspective on shoe care . If every video was about polishing a pair of shoes that would be boring to me . I appreciate his input and value his perspective . Keep up the great work Preston !
What is wrong with you? The man is a professional and uses the best tools to achieve the impeccable finish for which he is rightly famous. I would not buy an airbrush as I cannot be bothered with all this fancy but beautiful work, I would rather send my shoes to someone like him. Using an airbrush is NOT a crime.
I’m really sorry, forgive me, but though I wasn’t keen on the orange colour of the shoes at the beginning I am afraid to say that I heartily dislike the colours that you have given the shoes. I think the contrast in colour is too great and the look is really rather vulgar and loud. But hey, as the saying goes ‘one man’s meat is another man’s poison’ so what do I know? You’re in the shoe trade and I’m not so you almost certainly know better than me.
Could you please do something about the sound? I have my headphones on and the volume set to maximum and I can barely hear you. BTW: My headphones are excellent and I am not hard of hearing. Thank you.
