I love Dr. Bronner’s liquid soaps. I have a bottle each of Tea Tree, Peppermint, and Lavender. I use these for so many cleaning needs, including my shower, my hair, cleaning the house and floors. So there is a big bottle in my shower, one in my kitchen and one in the area where I create my cleaners. I have used them for years and will not change!
So well explained even if we do disagree about some aspects of this industry. I prefer soap based products just because the synthetics in most detergent products are too harsh, in particular the scents which are not regulated by any entity. People just do not understand that these products are dangerous not because of each thing but because of their cumulative effect over time and using so many different products. I think it works every bit as well as almost all specialty products, usually when they aren't performing as well it's because we don't use them correctly. I also tend to prefer the soap based because they are usually more ethically produced across the board. A word about the Castile thing. Originally the word Castile was sort of like how we talk about champagne, as in a regional specifier. It was soap made with olive oil from the Castile region of Spain. In time the accepted definition included all olive oil soaps. Now it is inclusive to mean all plant based soaps.
Yep - I've been using just a few drops for my beard (going for an epic one) and a few drops for everything else. I've been seeing some comments that says avoid "sensitive" areas on the body but most of those are around the peppermint version. The citrus version seems to be fairly mild.
Mahalo for sharing your knowledge about this soap.. I'm soo going to get this.!!! I'd definitely be ordering this as this would save me alot of money, especially living in Hawaii!!! Mahalos again for being very-very honest & informative about it!
This video made me subscribe - probably the best review of Dr Bronners soap on RUclips. I agree with you on using it as toothpaste, I've tried a few of them and they tasted awful. Right now I'm using the Hemp Green Tea version and it actually tastes quite acceptable. In terms of drying out skin, would you say this soap is better for skin compared to detergents? I find it doesn't dry my hands out when used as hand wash, but it dries my skin out badly elsewhere, my skin seems to prefer detergents to soaps in general, is that weird? My water varies between medium-soft to hard as it's pumped from three different locations, so some days things work better than others. I realise this video is a few years old now, how is your wife's eczema doing? I have psoriasis so I get what it can be like. Sorry for the long comment haha~ Ki.
The dr,bronner tea tree is my Fav! I have a bottle of it i use to wash my hair. Since using it as a shampoo i havent had dandruff since. Its amazing stuff. I dont use strictly alone. i add about a dime size of the Bronners with my regular shampoo. =)
MISS KITTY So you add the dime size to the whole bottle of shampoo? Or to just the bit of shampoo for one use? I would like to try it but don't know if I should dilute it first. Thanks.
Marguerite Farrell Hi, i add a very small dime size in my palm with my regular shampoo, (not in the bottle), but i dont use that much shampoo. I have long hair too. The dr.bonners really creates a ton of suds even with a small dime size, so not much regular shampoo is needed. =)
Marguerite Farrell Ive tried the peppermint Dr.bronners and i didnt like it. It burned my scalp a bit, and made it really sensitive. I then tried the tea tree and its AMAZING! been using it with every hair wash for about 4 mths and it literally saved my hair.
Thanks. I only have the peppermint right now so I will try it highly diluted. Just made some body wash with it, and hemp oil and water and it seems to be fine. I will get the tea tree oil next time I order it. My scalp gets itchy so that would probably be the best for me.
Hi... thanks! My parents told me that Kuna translated into Marten (like the little animal). As a kid growing up in the US I wanted to have a common name like "Smith" but now I am very happy to have my last name. BTW a friend once brought me back a "Kuna" from Croatia. I still have it!
marie yes it is, i follow another girl on here and she does alot of tutorials etc. anyway, she uses this exact same one (tea tree) and so have I. the mild baby one is very good because it is jus that --mild. They soothe acne breakouts and red skin due to breakouts. walgreens usually have them on sale and so does target... hope this helps!!
Ive used the Peppermint on my face for a few month's now and get rave reviews. Im not going to say "Yay" or "Nay". Ill let you draw your own conclusion on its effectiveness. :)
I don't have an absolute answer but my guess would be no (unless you are drinking the stuff). The hemp used commercially should have very low levels of THC and you are only keeping the soap on your skin for moments and then washing it off. You can write the company to see if they have additional info.
No. Absolutely not. There isn't any THC in the hemp oil that's used commercially other wise they wouldn't be selling it. THC is what the test detects. I use hemp products quite often because it's super good for moisturizing but it has nothing to do with what people smoke even though it's from the same plant.
I got so used to the soapy taste that I moved to using ivory soap to brush. Eventually I moved to tooth soap because it doesn't have glycerin. Overall Dr. Bronner's makes a great toothpaste.
The writing on the bottle is nothing about the product itself: it's nothing but him talking about how wonderful his god is and religious philosophy that frankly not everyone is into or believes, or wants in their house, and it also makes no sense if you actually read it

What’s your favourite to wash your body with
Ive used this to scrub my carpets, brush my teeth, laundry, dishes and clean my house. I love this stuff!
Definitely done your research, very informative and covered everything I came here for and more. Need more people like you, thank you.

Citrus bar soap is by far my favorite.have tried rose , and now tea tree.
Apparently tea tree oils are not good for young boys, it's been shown to cause hormonal changes. I think that is strictly for younger males though.
I love the peppermint version!
Great review! thanks. I just bought the tea tree scented soap- not sold on the scent yet but it might grow on me!
Good overview.
I saw it sloshing around, so it probably also contains a lot of hydroxylic acid.

i didnt know they had tea tree!!! im going back to get some tomorrow!
Thanks, for the great information. You are the only person, so far, who has shown some intelligence.
Have to agree with you about Tea tree products (aka melaleuca) this soap is wonderful and I use it for hair and body out of the bottle.

Helpful vid thx

I don't know but it shouldn't aggravate your skin as it is very gentle.
@mrslaurastone Your comments are most kind.
thank you!

Good Video.. Thank you

I hate the scents they put in things.....Thank you for sharing , very nice talk on soap.....New Sub
Is it antibacterial?
no
It is a different kind of smell. Not flowery more medicinal. I really like it but the smell isn't for everyone.
Question: Will the Hemp in Dr. Bronners soap cause you to test positive for marijuana on a urine drug test?

This video exposes the myths uninformed people claim in their youtube video about Castille soap as the product for all things in cleaning.
