Finally, I found a great anime, not Isekai, without fan service and a harem. I agree with those who consider that ID is underrated. This anime is beautiful in its own way and does not let go until the last episode. And also it is completely completed, so you do not have to torment yourself with doubts and questions: "What will happen next?" My rating: 9.5/10
So far the best Psychological, Detective, Mystery, Dark anime I've watched.. Next to Psycho-Pass and the sound track it's so awesome!!! now I am a fan of Miyavi 😊😉
If you enjoy the detective genre, you could try out Bungou Stray Dogs too, but it hassome fantasy elements in it too like supernatural abilities and stuff

the fact that the song is called butterfly might be a reference to Chuang Tzu's the butterfly as companion a poem about a dream of Tzu having a life about being a buttefly and that he had happiness directly linked to being a butterfly but then he wakes up and wonders if he's dreaming or awake this could be related to when Nahrisago goes deep inside his ID well and gets enraptured by his time there almost like a dream he didn't want to wake up from a dream that was directly tied to his happiness this might be a stretch but its an interesting thought Once upon a time, I dreamt I was a butterfly, fluttering hither and thither, to all intents and purposes a butterfly. This anime is so good it's dark and it draws you in with a really appeasing end to it that leaves you content and every character no matter how small leaves an impact on you I really enjoy the story writing and wish there were more shows like it

This anime is one of the best in this year. The mystery and plots are amazing and i did expect it to be all mystery but i didn't know it had feels after watching *that* episode

this anime makes a lot more sense if u know what ID is.. its a real thing and the rule of not getting into ur own ID is also a real thing. wiki on ID, ego and superego has the surface covered. i read it after watching the anime and it made a lot more sence after that..

(in my words, which could be a bit confusing for some ppl) the anime is about knowing themseves.. and there is a book called "the elephant in the brain" it tells more about how your brain lies to you, shackes you and controlls you. i dont remember the exact quote but it went something like this.. " u are not the king of your brain, u are the dude beside the king (that is ur brain) that goes 'u are ryt my lord' at all the king's decisions". the brian (lets call him billy) does anything to make u feel better. coz this is where emotions doesnt reach and this is where u could call urself "absolute selfish". everyones like that. so then if u think about it.. the anime is all about how billy lies to them. getting inside others ID means to know the real reasons behing every crime they did and not the reason they think they did the crime for. this is a really common thing with humans. even i could go around help some of my mates and be like "its coz theyre my mates". but in reality its coz i expect something better in return. an investment for a profit.. but that would make u feel bad. so then billy does his job and lies to you. so yes. knowing billy means to know urself. and the ur moral compass would only suggest that whoever u see in there would be a bad guy. nobody likes to be seen as a bad guy. And i'd recommend not reading freuds theories coz theyre too rad and raw. nobody really likes his theories coz theyre too true. u could find other better explained theories. and i'd also recommend not to look too much into the fuctioning of the "billy" module (thats wht i call it) i just talked about unless u have an extreme mental integrity to handle all that. coz i didnt and these are some things that are better off not knowing. theyre a really bad thing in the long run.
