I thought Jesus was a joke, but after dwelling in buddhism, taoism, new age meditations, I gave Jesus a chance. I decided to know Him if I'm gonna win a debate against him, since you can't be against something you dont fully know. just give Jesus a chance and he will change your mind.
I respect Jesus for what he tried to achieve and admire him deeply, but if I may, be a little bit blunt, Buddha dharma has 84000 sutras and tantras, meaning 84000 scriptures unlike just the one associated with Jesus which is the Holy Bible. In this existence of endless suffering, how can you hope for just one book/teaching to get you through it? It’s like getting willingly stuck in a storm with just an umbrella while everyone is sheltered, it’s time for you to get inside and join the rest. Stay curious.

I actually started as Christian for almost 20 years and am now studying Buddhism. The entire idea of Jesus being a blood sacrifice to pay for "sins" that we had no control over is a bit much. The Judeo-Christian god holding an imperfect being to a perfect standard is completely illogical and unjust. I was also bothered by the idea that a all perfect and all loving god literally admitting himself that he is a jealous god and claims he gives us a choice to love him back out of our own free will but then if you don't he will send you to be tormented forever, what kind of deity is that? What if your spouse said it's your choice to love them back and then when you tell them you don't love them anymore they lock you in a fiery torture chamber. It's literally psychotic. It seems extremely petty for a higher being like him too seek the worship of lesser beings and then punish them when they don't, it's very egotistical and narcissistic and isn't something a perfect being would do. I still like some of his words of wisdom and even still use biblical quotes to this day, overall i think Yeshua was a very peaceful man, but he was also a product of the time he was in and was more like a rabbi turned doomsday prophet because those movements where very common then because most people's lives looked very bleak and didn't have much hope for a better one. So I understand that they wanted hope. Buddha on the other hand does not demand any worship, nor does he force us to worship and god. He is far from a egotistical narcissist like the god in the old testament and instead promotes acceptance and inner piece. I really needed that in my life, growing up in a strict christian household and then spending many years as an adult witnessing to strangers while at the same time throwing them passive aggressive threats of hell and their eternal torment if they didn't follow the book I was promoting. I just couldn't do it. But you should follow whatever you think is right for you and I hope it brings you happiness.

Compare the history of Christianity to Buddhism and tell me which one caused the most pain and suffering to people. Christians have a bad history of converting people at sword point, because why not? If they dont "see the light" they are wicked at heart and will be tormented eternally, so drastic actions are justified. Unfortunately Islam(another Abrahamic faith) also has a similar history and I just don't see how anyone can be ok with that. Both Christianity and Islam assumes that people are wicked by default but that is just not true. There is good in almost everyone, how can you look at a new born baby and think it has a wicked soul? It comes across as so cold hearted. There is enough pain in the world. Please please don't contribute to it.

Agreed. Many of the Jewish prophets over a hundred years before Gautama was born told of when and where Jesus was going to be born. There was TONS of foreshadowing of what Jesus was going to do and how he was going to die as far back as Abraham and Issac in Genesis. Being born as a wealthy son he should've be educated enough to know what was happening with the Babylonian captivity crushing Jerusalem starting like 30 years before he was born.

When I first became a Buddhist I thought I can never truly be one cuz I still believe in God. But then I realize yes I can I'm going to convert fully into Temple when I can. But I look at God as our creator and Buddha as our teacher and I look at Jesus as a teacher too. Cuz I believe you can be a Buddhist and still believe in

Hi, I appreciate the kind words towards the Lord Jesus Christ. The video was also very honest when it said that there is really no mention of Jesus in the Buddhist Sutras because of the antiquity of the documents (pre-Christ), and this is to be commended. Buddhism is one of the better religions around. Nevertheless, I wonder how this video came to the conclusion that Jesus was a Bodhisattva? Based on the New Testament, Jesus claimed to be the very idea of God manifest in the flesh. This was especially so, when the disciple Philip asked Him to show them God the Father, and He said, "Have I been with you so long, Philip, and yet you do not know Me? He who has seen Me has seen God the Father." Not only that, in Revelation, Jesus further said, "I am the Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the End, the First and the Last;" - titles which God uttered concerning Himself through the prophet Isaiah. So, within the New Testament, how does one come to see that Jesus was simply a human on his way to Buddhahood, unless extrabiblical sources were used as a reference? In the Lotus Sutra the Buddha says he has appeared throughout time and space teaching beings based on what they need to know, sometimes in his form and name, sometimes in a different form and name, but he always taught about his death, because beings begin to take you for granted when your always available. That really hit me. I'm Tibetan Buddhist myself, but it sure sounds like the buddha could have had an incarnation (or rather an emination since he is an enlightened being) as jesus.

one who has tasted Divine Love, Unconditional and deeply embracing Love of the Heavenly Parent through Yeshua Messiah and then compares it with Buddha's compassion, will know that Divine and Heavenly Love of God is beyond comparison and cannot be substitited with anything else. Yeshua the Messiah came to reveal and introduce his Heavenly Parent to mankind - that was one of his goals. he did not bring "religion" but a real personal and living RELATIONSHIP with the Ultimate Reality that transforms a person's life.

So my experience in Christian denominations has been the following in regards to mind training & discipline: Virtually non-existent! Paul said "Be transformed by the renewing of your minds" and "Whatever is good, noble, true, beautiful, worthy of praise, etc......think/dwell upon these things" and also "Put on Christ & make no provision for the flesh, to obey its lusts." No denomination or church that I visited ever trained people in the above areas! Do Christian authors discuss these things? Yes surprisingly but very, very, very few. Buddhism on the other hand makes provision for mind training & dsicipline and provides the means. So to me, a person CAN follow both........Can a person believe the full tenets of one & the other? It depends on which form of Buddhism. There are esoteric forms of Buddhism (See Rudolf Steiner's understanding of Buddha & Christ), Pali Buddhism: which is found to a large degree in Thailand/Laos/Vietnam/Myanmar & Mahayana/Vajrayana found in Tibet, Japan, China & Korea & Mongolia. Then you have scholarship which says "Look, EVERY form of Buddhism today has degenerated from Gautama Siddhartha's original teachings." When you examine what DID Gautama Siddhartha actually teach originally...you find that the original texts don't exist however you do find the Pali & Ghandhara texts which are the oldest. There it is people.....Much research done for you. Now you examine it for yourself & see what's going here.
In 2001 exactly one month after collapse of World Trade Center ,I was near by . Thousand people gazers the remnants of WTC. My glance take a Buddhist temple standing not far away from. I walked in. Talk with Buddhist monks for a while. I also give same ? about Christ. They just told me ,he (Christ) not important for Buddhist teaching . And they greatly doubted in that magic story. Since that I believe only in human wisdom and Buddha brain.

Because this world is fucked up mate, people mainly believe in what they wanna believe is right. Think of it like this, people who poach animals, they do it for money right ? Now imagine a human was poaching you can you not tell me that you would have the same mindset as that animal. We commit sins in the name of god now and we say that they will be washed up because of Jesus’ sacrifice to us does that allow us to commit as many sins as possible and yet repenting will allow us to go to heaven. One more thing as you have said Buddha died 500 years before Jesus' birth. if rebirth concept Buddha gave to his disciples then, Buddha must have taken rebirth also, because according to the philosophy of Buddhism a person reborn again and again. Many people or Christian thought this as you can only serve one God. But to my understanding this meant you can only choose to serve either Kindness or Evil. Kindness and Evil are the two masters that you have to choose. You can't do kind deeds and on the other hand do evil things. Example you donate money to help the poor, but you rob the rich.

The end result of Buddhism is literally nothingness. The end result of Christianity is everlasting life with the triune creator God. CHOOSE WISELY. Jesus is the way, the truth and the life. No one comes unto the Father but by Him.
Both concepts are scary if you think about it. Everlasting life and pleasure, no suffering also means no life and no pleasure. What gives life meaning is death, what gives pleasure meaning is suffering, those two cannot exist without each other. Here, let me explain. If everyone is beautiful, that means no one is beautiful, since that standard of beauty will become normal. If light never existed, mean darkness is just a normal state and vice versa. In the grand scheme of thing our life is but a blink of an eye compare to "eternal" that mean our death is also non exist compare to it. Then can we even call it "life"

Even all the gods in India could not end the suffering of one human being. At the age of 29, the Buddha stopped praying to the gods to end his suffering and the suffering of others. He left his family and friends, went to the edge of the forest, took off all his clothes and jewelry, covered his naked body with rags of cloth, cut off his hair and started to meditate. I thought Jesus was a joke, but after dwelling in buddhism, taoism, new age meditations, I gave Jesus a chance. I decided to know Him if I'm gonna win a debate against him, since you can't be against something you dont fully know. just give Jesus a chance and he will change your mind.
I respect Jesus for what he tried to achieve and admire him deeply, but if I may, be a little bit blunt, Buddha dharma has 84000 sutras and tantras, meaning 84000 scriptures unlike just the one associated with Jesus which is the Holy Bible. In this existence of endless suffering, how can you hope for just one book/teaching to get you through it? I actually started as Christian for almost 20 years and am now studying Buddhism. The entire idea of Jesus being a blood sacrifice to pay for "sins" that we had no control over is a bit much. The Judeo-Christian god holding an imperfect being to a perfect standard is completely illogical and unjust.
I was also bothered by the idea that a all perfect and all loving god literally admitting himself that he is a jealous god and claims he gives us a choice to love him back out of our own free will but then if you don't he will send you to be tormented forever, what kind of deity is that? What if your spouse said it's your choice to love them back and then when you tell them you don't love them anymore they lock you in a fiery torture chamber. It's literally psychotic.
It seems extremely petty for a higher being like him too seek the worship of lesser beings and then punish them when they don't, it's very egotistical and narcissistic and isn't something a perfect being would do. I still like some of his words of wisdom and even still use biblical quotes to this day, overall i think Yeshua was a very peaceful man, but he was also a product of the time he was in and was more like a rabbi turned doomsday prophet because those movements where very common then because most people's lives looked very bleak and didn't have much hope for a better one. So I understand that they wanted hope.
Buddha on the other hand does not demand any worship, nor does he force us to worship and god. He is far from a egotistical narcissist like the god in the old testament and instead promotes acceptance and inner piece. I really needed that in my life, growing up in a strict christian household and then spending many years as an adult witnessing to strangers while at the same time throwing them passive aggressive threats of hell and their eternal torment if they didn't follow the book I was promoting. I just couldn't do it.
But you should follow whatever you think is right for you and I hope it brings you happiness.

Compare the history of Christianity to Buddhism and tell me which one caused the most pain and suffering to people. Christians have a bad history of converting people at sword point, because why not? If they dont "see the light" they are wicked at heart and will be tormented eternally, so drastic actions are justified. Unfortunately Islam(another Abrahamic faith) also has a similar history and I just don't see how anyone can be ok with that.
Both Christianity and Islam assumes that people are wicked by default but that is just not true. There is good in almost everyone, how can you look at a new born baby and think it has a wicked soul? It comes across as so cold hearted.

There was TONS of foreshadowing of what Jesus was going to do and how he was going to die as far back as Abraham and Issac in Genesis. Hi, I appreciate the kind words towards the Lord Jesus Christ. The video was also very honest when it said that there is really no mention of Jesus in the Buddhist Sutras because of the antiquity of the documents (pre-Christ), and this is to be commended. Buddhism is one of the better religions around.
Nevertheless, I wonder how this video came to the conclusion that Jesus was a Bodhisattva? Based on the New Testament, Jesus claimed to be the very idea of God manifest in the flesh. This was especially so, when the disciple Philip asked Him to show them God the Father, and He said, "Have I been with you so long, Philip, and yet you do not know Me? He who has seen Me has seen God the Father." Not only that, in Revelation, Jesus further said, "I am the Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the End, the First and the Last;" - titles which God uttered concerning Himself through the prophet Isaiah.
So, within the New Testament, how does one come to see that Jesus was simply a human on his way to Buddhahood, unless extrabiblical sources were used as a reference?

The title "Christ" isn't just some label Christians put on Jesus:

It is incorrect to say Jesus was called Christ only "because of what He did"; He was called The Christ because of what He said and what His life entailed (in keeping with the prophesies He came to fulfill.)

In the Lotus Sutra the Buddha says he has appeared throughout time and space teaching beings based on what they need to know, sometimes in his form and name, sometimes in a different form and name, but he always taught about his death, because beings begin to take you for granted when your always available. That really hit me. I'm Tibetan Buddhist myself, but it sure sounds like the buddha could have had an incarnation (or rather an emination since he is an enlightened being) as jesus.

So my experience in Christian denominations has been the following in regards to mind training & discipline: Virtually non-existent!
Paul said "Be transformed by the renewing of your minds" and "Whatever is good, noble, true, beautiful, worthy of praise, etc......think/dwell upon these things" and also "Put on Christ & make no provision for the flesh, to obey its lusts."
No denomination or church that I visited ever trained people in the above areas! Do Christian authors discuss these things? Yes surprisingly but very, very, very few. Buddhism on the other hand makes provision for mind training & dsicipline and provides the means.
So to me, a person CAN follow both........Can a person believe the full tenets of one & the other?
It depends on which form of Buddhism. There are esoteric forms of Buddhism (See Rudolf Steiner's understanding of Buddha & Christ), Pali Buddhism: which is found to a large degree in Thailand/Laos/Vietnam/Myanmar & Mahayana/Vajrayana found in Tibet, Japan, China & Korea & Mongolia.
Then you have scholarship which says "Look, EVERY form of Buddhism today has degenerated from Gautama Siddhartha's original teachings."
When you examine what DID Gautama Siddhartha actually teach originally...you find that the original texts don't exist however you do find the Pali & Ghandhara texts which are the oldest.
There it is people.....Much research done for you. Now you examine it for yourself & see what's going here.

His dad was a king, his mom was a queen, and his dad wanted him to take over the family business (the kingdom) when he got older.The kind of world the Buddha was born into was magical. Everything seemed to be alive. The trees, mountains, lakes, and sky were living and breathing with a variety of gods in charge. If you needed rain you asked one god, if you needed it to stop raining you asked another. The priests of India did all the religious work, and got paid for it.In India at the time of the Buddha you became a priest if you were born into the right family, and not because of the school you went to, or the grades you got. There were other kinds of religious people as well.
Mendicants were men who left their family, friends, and jobs to find the answers to life. They did not live in homes or apartments, but lived under trees and in caves, and would practice meditation all day long. They wanted to really be uncomfortable, so they could understand what suffering was all about.Many kinds of meditation were practiced by these mendicants. In Tranquility Meditation for instance, you think about just one thing, like looking at a candle or saying a word over and over. Even if the mendicants were sitting in the rain on a cold day, they were still content. They found in their meditation practice the essence of happiness.Renunciation is when you give up all the things that make your life pleasant. Sometimes the people with money and power in India would buy a lot of stuff to make themselves happy and their lives more comfortable, thinking that happiness and comfort depended on what they owned.
When the mendicants could see their own suffering clearly, after many years of renunciation, they understood that happiness was not dependent on the things they owned, but the kind of life they lived. Even all the gods in India could not end the suffering of one human being.
At the age of 29, the Buddha stopped praying to the gods to end his suffering and the suffering of others. He left his family and friends, went to the edge of the forest, took off all his clothes and jewelry, covered his naked body with rags of cloth, cut off his hair and started to meditate.
He became a mendicant, and It took him six years of hard work and much suffering, but in the end he was able to stop his suffering forever (Nirvana) and help others stop their suffering as well.Did the Buddha believe in God, the One God of the desert, the God of the Christians, Jews and Muslims?
Well... No... He didn't... Monotheism (only one God) was a foreign concept to the Buddha, his world was filled with many gods. The creator god Brahma being the most important one.At the time of the Buddha, the only people practicing the religion of the One God of the desert, were the Jews. Remember, it was still 500 years before Christ came into the world.
The Buddha never left India. The Buddha walked from village to village... In his entire lifetime he never went any further than 200 miles from his birthplace.

my dear brother, first of all i reject your way of thinking and philosophies regarding Jesus Christ. there is vast difference between Jesus and Buddha. Buddha never ever proclaimed that he is god or lord etc. he could not raised the person from the dead. Now why this title Christ was given to Jesus because it is written in John 1:14 that the Word became flash and dwelt among us. now when we talk about the teaching of Buddhism there is rebirth and no God in this religion. A person can do better without God. but there are few questions about rebirth and Karma Chakra, the circle of deeds, but what kind of deed again and again lead a person to be born again physically? what kind of Karma are attached with the person and causes for rebirth? just think about it.
