If it is perfectly in time already, if the "warp" thing is yellow (in the wav values menu at the bottom) then click it to make it grey, which means you deactivated warp.
the transient is the peak of any sound wave, like to highest point of gain on a sample such as a kick or bass drop, and the marker is the perameter you can set where the clip is stretched from. You can select transients or beat lengths to measure how ableton maps out the stretches with warping.
the real question is, how do i get all my automations that are timed on that wav file moving as well when i warp it ?!?!?!? i cant belive that it is missing and they are staying in place..
Hello, and thanks for all this info. . . I wonder if you can tell me why Ableton keeps warping my tracks? I have turned off warp in the preferences, and in the individual track configuration; but each time I record a new track (I'm just recording with a mic and a guitar through a Focusrite USB interface), the "warp" button is lit up yellow, and my tracks are out of sync. I can't get help from the forums because my license type (I'm using Ableton First and trying to learn the basics), doesn't allow access. I could really use a hand. Thanks in advance!
@@shahzmansaqib7233 Yes. What I discovered was that you really have to turn off the warping option, on each individual track itself. If you try to slide any parts of the track around, the settings automatically revert to the warp feature. But you can turn all of those off individually on the tracks. It's actually a bit of a design flaw, if you ask me. There really should just be an option to turn off all warping across the board, but I'm happy that I was able to get it figured out this way. Good luck.
Kieran Dennis mess around and you'll find gold he didn't he touch what's possible. You bcan create compression, tremolo, pitch fx with only the warp settings.

If anyone can help in simply trying to drag a sound from the column on the left onto the grid and use the exact sound but I am having the worst time trying to figure it out. I’m sure it’s not that difficult either. Been up for 10+ hours working with ableton haha
I cannot believe they havent updated the timestretching algorithms!! C'mon guys!! this is digital technology all along! You have to give us added better sounding algorithms even if it costs more cpu just as an option!!
Hi could you please help me. I'm trying to warp an audio file (normally rhythmed). At what should be mesure 85.1, as there is no note played, Ableton set the 85.1 mark at what should be the 85.2 mark. In a word: there is 1/4 measured delayed and everything is shifted by 1/4 subsequently. Could help me to force the detection of the 85.1 measure? I've inserted manually a transient but it doesn't work. Thank you.
Hi Hieu, Thanks for the comment. It's difficult to troubleshoot this without seeing what's going on, and how your settings are prepared in Live. For that reason, please contact our Tech Support Team by email here: bit.ly/3nE8GRo If you can, please include a Status Report File, and also something illustrating the issue - like a video or a screen recording. @@Ableton Sorry i was not clear: to be short, when there are silences in an audio, Ableton doesn't detect properly the tempo (and it's normal!). My question: in this case, how can I set it manually? Hi Hieu, thanks for getting back to us. You can read all about how to warp audio clips here: bit.ly/3M7gJ2B Hope this helps and don't hesitate to contact our Tech Support Team for further questions. Ableton
Hi Hieu. It sounds like what you're looking for is how to set warp markers manually. Luckily it's a very easy thing to do. As is described in this video, starting around 2:40, you can create your own new warp markers and adjust the tempo from there. Depending on your clip, you may need to adjust the remainder of the clip which may be a lot. Try it out! If it doesn't work right, we don't do in-depth tech support here on the comments, so please contact our Tech Support Team. Thanks, Ableton

When do you show how to Warp? This clip is already warped?
can you make a video with a instrumental and a acapella using the warping tool

Would be nice when placing warp markers that you only had to place one next to the wave form , without having to place two in between..
Pressing Cmd (Mac) or Ctl (PC) when creating a warp marker it will make that happen
