Wow what a conversion, top marks, best I've seen, wish I'd bought the high top now that bed is brilliant.hope there's videos coming of van in use.All the best Martin
💕 Love the front skylight where most people add storage. 💕 Love the refrigerator is up high. 💕 Love that you made a dry bath 🚿. 💕 Love the drop down bed. 💕 Love the built-in storage. 💕 Love the paint job. The ONLY thing I would want different is more of a comfy sofa. Otherwise, this is one of the most well thought out vans I've seen.
Excellent conversion. The underbed cupboards are genius. I'm considering a conversion but with the lift bed at the back (because probably going for an L3, just for easier parking - always a trade-off with interior space.) The need to ditch the cuboards was causing me concern & until I saw this video, just hadnt thought about actually attaching to the underside - so thanks for that. It would limit the height it can lower to, but reckon its worth it.
Very interesting video as planning to get, and convert an L4h3 boxer/relay/ducato ourselves. Was it difficult to do the window in the front, above the cab? We want to put a bunk up there for my daughter!
Wow what a great build bud! great use of the space and puts the £80k+ pro vans to shame! could i ask what drop down bed you purchased and where from? presuming it was UK?
What a fantastic conversion. I am in the middle of doing one myself but it is just al l2 so would not be able to do the bed. I was wondering where you got your wheels at
Very nice conversion. Could you tell me the measurements from inside floor to the roof. I have a Mercedes sprinter xlwb high roof, looking to fit a bed mechanism but want to be able to walk and stand underneath it.
Hi, first of all, congratulations.. your camper looks amazing! I recently bought the same model and I want to remove the headliner structure as your did. Did you have any troubles with regulatory laws or insurance because you did that modification?
Hi, thank you. We had no problems and it passed its annual check (MOT) that we have to have here in the UK. Not sure about any other countries. Hope all goes well with your conversion.
Have you had your van weighed? I'm building an L4H3 at the moment and am really trying to watch the weight. If you're comes in under 3.5t I have nothing to worry about lol.
I hope you don't mind me asking questions about the bed lift. I want to build a single drop down bed for my young son in the camper i'm building this winter, for him. Can I ask what motor you have used for the bed lift and where you got it? Also how did you clamp the webbing onto the round bars? Thanks in advance.
Hi, it was trial and error but ended up with a motor from a roller shutter garage door that I acquired from a local company. 12v/24v motor. As to fixing the webbing I cut a slot through the bar and made a loop on the end of the webbing, securely fixing with sewing machine, passing it through the slot in the bar and inserting a metal pin through the loop then pulling tight against the bar. Hope this makes sense. Anymore questions feel free to ask. Ian.
@@riley.livingthelife Yes that makes perfect sense. Thank you for the detailed reply. Can I ask what type of side runners you used to keep the bed rise and fall squarely? I was considering using the 80/20 extruded aluminium captive slide runners.
I searched eBay and found some runners for a 3D printer, it runs on a roller bearing carrier on an aluminium extruded rail. It all seems a bit of a cobbled together concoction but it works fine eventually. Could have bought an Italian bed lift system at £2500 but that was beyond my budget so hence this is what I come up with.
@@riley.livingthelife Ive got those V grove rubber rollers in my ebay basket. After looking at all the commercial bed lift designs, I honestly don't see anything better than the DIY versions.
Hi, I hate that word, and I don’t mean That. 🤣 The van was £11,300 and we spent around £10,000 on fitting it out, not forgetting the sweat and tears, long nights and weekends. 😊
Hi, thank you and the bed mechanism is self built from various bits and pieces of other things, example it is powered by 2 up and over garage door motors, a little bit too complicated to explain but does work well.
Hi great job did you get it reclassed by dvla ? as i have seen similar vans coming back as a van with windows.Ihave just about finished my van and it would be interesting to know how yours comes back.cheers.
Hi, it came back as van with windows 3 times and then eventually after putting more graphics, alloy wheels and respirating front quarter bumpers we have had it classified as a motor caravan by the dvla. We do think the colour was a hindrance. Hope yours goes through ok but if not keep trying.
Hi Riley :), this is a fantastic conversion! May I ask roughly how much did it cost including the van? We are planning to buy a van and do the conversion but we have no idea how much we should plan for it. Many thanks :)
If this model has the same diesel engine as the Ford transit then make sure you change the fuel filter every 3k miles and carry a spare. These fuel pumps are prone to breaking down due to poor fuel quality so make sure you don't fill up with dirty fuel.
I was about to ask the same. I noticed the reinforcement of the front cab, where normally the bulkhead is attached to, has disappeared. I know a lot of motorhomes have that removed as well, but for sure there needs to be some extra reinforcement to be done as compensation?
The best one I've seen, fully functional, plenty of storage. Even a proper cooker fitted. Amazing use of space!
Thank you.
Definitely one of the best conversions I've seen
That is the benchmark for how I would build mine. Love the layout.

Thank you and we do agree about the comfy sofa but compromise’s have to be made and its not uncomfortable. 😊
Now thats what I call a quality conversion
Thank you
you crazy bastard
I have this same van, which is going to have a conversion next month, so thanks for posting this , excellent job
Great conversion I really like it. Have you thought of adding a drawing of the layout with dimensions to help others with simmilar ideas?
Thank you. We hadn’t thought of it but it is a good idea and we might just get round to doing it one day. Thanks again.
just wow!!!! Utterly gobsmakingly beautifully done😍😍😍😍😍😍

Its a small difference between L3 and L4, about 35cm. How will this help you when parking? Or are there any legal restrictions?

Hello, have you registered this motorhome, or is that not necessary?
Hi, yes it’s registered as a motorhome.

Not sure but thanks for the advice.
add eliminox {sulnox) fuel conditioner and you'll have no fuel issues
wow
It seems to me that you cut off part of the structural reinforcements, it is completely illegal and unconscious to do so, at least in France...
I was about to ask the same. I noticed the reinforcement of the front cab, where normally the bulkhead is attached to, has disappeared. I know a lot of motorhomes have that removed as well, but for sure there needs to be some extra reinforcement to be done as compensation?
The bulkhead is designed to be removed and is not structural, many vans have them taken out. 👍🏻
What goes through people's heads when putting those ridiculous graphics on?
