Great lesson, Luke! Like the way you make lessons, first making us guess the mistakes and then explaining the rules. You are awesome! Keep it up. I hope you get millions of subscribers.
This is one of those English lessons that is an obligation to go grab a notebook and take notes 😁 You're an excellent English teacher, Luke. Thanks for sharing your incredible knowledge. ✌️🏻
Hey Michel! Ah thanks you're always very kind to me 😃 As always, Im just happy that I can help English learners like you! Cheers again and have a good Sunday!
I found them as I am usually counting on my hearing skills through many and many time I hear the two words hope and wish. And I thank you for your lesson that I like and appreciate 🙏😃
YEAH,AFTER TAKING YOUR LECTURE NOW I THINK I WOULD USE BOTH THESE WORDS CORRECTLY I DID YOUR LAST EXERCISE PERFECTLY BUT FIRST ONE WENT WRONG DOING GOOD JOB GOD BLESS YOU
Hey! Good question. Yes, kind of. That "wish" grammatical structure is mostly used like "I wish you Merry Christmas" or "I wish you a happy birthday." It would be more common to say "I hope you have a safe flight." Does this help? 😃👍
Why can't someone use WOULD for themselves like.. I wish i wouldn't smoke daily? Any reason behind? Also this one.. So I'm gonna ask you a question about this movie i hope you might have watched that movie OR i hope you have watched that movie OR I can say I hope you watched that movie because I'm not aware about the one whether he might watch or not I'm just asking question randomly with hoping! So how could i use???
I wish ,,,, I hope ,,, I am a bit confused my friend , what's the difference between those 2 words ? I want 2 examples with each word ; please ! Yeah !
Hey! There are many different ways, but wish is often used to talk about things you are annoyed at and want to change (I wish you would be nicer!), a present situation you would like to change but cannot (I wish I were taller.) or a past regret ( I wish I had saved more money last year). Hope is used for future situations that you want or expect to happen (I hope I will pass my test tomorrow!) there are other reasons to use hope which are in my video. 👍

Sure, I'll cover that in my next pronunciation video. The /w/ sound is difficult for a lot of English learners.

@@TeacherLuke-DET so I wish you a safe flight is not correct.
Hope is the right verb? yeah
I have a question, is correct saying: i wish i had learnt how to drive earlier.
I know that maybe is better “i wish i had learnt to drive earlier” but i wanted to know if can be considered correct
Hey! Good question and both are correct and essentially have the same meaning -> regrets about not learning to drive earlier.
Thanks for the question!
