I can't make a marquee selection box. If I try to drag a box over the roto shape and release, the box selection disappears and no marquee selection:( how do you do the marquee selection at 9:34?
Confirm that the "pointer" option of the Roto selection menu is selected. Then click the specific shape in your Roto node properties. Then CTRL+A to view the selection box. Hope this helps even after 2 years later :)

It pisses me off that something as simple as a roto shape has to be so complex and difficult in nuke! Im trying for three hours now mask out an arm from stock footage. Fuckin pisses me off!

In the roto node select premultiply to rgba. Hope this helps.
