On 25th September 1956, the INDIAN ARMY razed my MEKOKLA to the ground. Properties were damaged, children scattered, families dispersed, lives lost, people fled and rendered homeless, Women were raped,Grainerries burnt down. This year marked the 66th year of that fateful day. Therefore we the citizens of Mekokla village decided to come together and commemorate the loss we have gone through, as we honour our ancestors who died yearning for just peace. GOD BLESS MEKOKLIANS
