  • With winter in full swing we set out to chase a feed of fish for the table while discovering new ground on this adventure. Conditions were stunning and the fishing didn't disappoint either.

    Came across this channel randomly a few months ago. I’ve now gotten my first fishing kayak and I’m loving it. Great channel Rob, thanks for the intro into the hobbie. Can’t wait for more videos.

    What’s the Gan Jig you are using? What is a gan jig haha

      Gan Jig these would have to be one of the best micro jigs I have used, they are long lasting but most of all they really catch fish. Check them out here: www.kayakadventures.co.nz/Zest-Gan-Jigs/index.php/

    I'd like to see how you load and launch those kayaks, I heard they weigh 50kg?

    • @NZkayakfishing
      @NZkayakfishing  4 года назад +1

      Ha good call launching is no different except the drive comes up once the depth is half a metre and like any kayak paddle or pedal you adjust your techniques accordingly. As for the weight yes every kayak has quite a bit more when loaded up with gear and once the predator PDL is broken down its quite easy to manage. I like a trailer though and at my age its easier on my body that has had a hard life. However it has also kept me young and can still lift the kayak onto roof racks and even have a video of this here: ruclips.net/video/QVg7Ts8MfEE/видео.html

      The hull without the drive and seat is only around 30kgs so not much heavier than most kayaks, unload the kayak and then put the gear on - easy as!

      @@KerryFlowers Hmm I've been looking for a new kayak, think I might wait until November and try the plastic stealth first.

      @@KerryFlowers totally and its that simple, in fact this kayak is faster to set up than most!
