Having a shelf of childhood favorites is wonderful. I kept most of mine, but I still pick up books I remember loving but only ever checked out of the library. (Speaking of which -- I've read both So B. It and The Secret Language of Girls, albeit when more college-age; how fun to see).
The Wishing Game is a score! Such a sweet palate cleanser (one that also celebrates the power of enduring love for our favorite childhood books).

Robin Carr is an older writer, that’s why nobody talks about her. Kristan Higgins, Jill Shalvis, Brenda Novak, Susan Mallery, Lori Foster, and the Queen, Nora Roberts. They do romance, suspense, contemporary. Really a mix. Nora does most, just no horror lol These are all auto buy authors for me.

My local Goodwill doesn't sort books by genre. There are so many books that I get so overwhelmed and don't even want to look. There is a HUGE book sale in Bloomington every year called the Book'em Book Sale. There are hundreds of tables set up and many thousands of books. Unless it's a special book, books are priced under $3, kids picture books are 25 cents!

@ I got most of Agatha Christie’ Poirot books there one year. It’s great for finding many duplicates from school assignments or book clubs. And like your experience at goodwill, pricing is up to the volunteers. Sometimes they’re like “eh I’ll count these two as one”

When I was a kid my grandmother told me that a building on the corner of 46th and Hiawatha, near minnehaha falls, used to be a brothel. At the time she told me about it the building was a consignment clothing store. Sadly the building has been torn down but I'm curious if that building is mentioned in the book
