Since Apple doesn't specify the version of the public beta, can you tell me which developer beta it is based on? I've been confused about this for a few years.
It’s a re-release of developer Beta 3 with some extra fixes and changes. Emojis in the keyboard are small again, messages notifications working better, and a couple Beta 3 graphic changes undone.
@@SirGenesis206 Thanks for letting me know. I've been running the public beta on my iPhone 15 Pro Max, and it's been great. Although I've beta tested the public beta for years and rarely had issues, I typically wait for public beta 2 or 3. However, iOS 18 is probably my favorite iOS update in a very long time. I'm very happy with the extra customization, especially in the Action Center. I don't remember when, but for at least a few years, Apple stopped numbering their public betas, and it's been confusing me.
Hi Stephen, sorry for being a little bit off topic but I just bought a brand new pair of Aipods 3rd Generation Magsafe. No problem with the sound but - and I even try at home in a room calling a member of my family who was in the most distant room - no one can barely hear me when I speak. Could it be related to the fact that last night I downloaded iOS 18 Public Beta? Thank you very much in advance
Hey there! Beta can mess with audio things like that, especially if it was working before the update. Maybe try a call on another device, like an iPad and see if you experience the same issue. If so, bring in to the Apple Store and they can check if there's a legit hardware issue.
@@beardfm thank you Stephen, a lot! I tried to pair them with an iPhone 11 pro, my previous one, but it was even worse because nobody could hear the other one. I will try with my mac (MacBook Air 15” bought in February)
@@Tyler_ThaTruth Ha! I have done public in the past (not sure I did it this soon) and usually do it on my iPad because my phone is my main device - though I use my iPad more these days than before. I figure most of my iPhone apps wouldn't quite be ready yet, and I don't want issues... but my iPad - it probably won't bug me a lot to do it. Especially if I can easily go back to 17.
Safari needs to be better, why apple wasting time on developing those features instead of making the base better and let ppl make actual useful extensions?

Does it relocatethe control center to the top for older iphones?
That's a good question, I don't have an older one to try unfortunately.
I would really love to use the Journal app mor often, but for that I need a MacOS-App und iCloud sync.

Just a question, how come ur using an iPhone 14? Do u have a different phone for public and developer betas? If so, that’s sickkkk
How stable will first public beta be? It sounds like it's been quite good? (I know - some apps may not work with it yet.)
All my apps work and this beta is the most stable it’s ever been but I don’t recommend cause if your phone brick you ain’t blaming me for your actions

Not bad. The apps I use work pretty well. Battery is garbage of course, but that’s the worst part.
Is there a way to automate the icons to be large in the Home Screen only in specific focus modes?
Unfortunately not, same with tinting. It's universal and applies to all focus modes.
