I have that exact stock on my Rem 700 chambered in 7.62x51 (.308 Cal) and love it. One thing to mention is for a very fair price you can get rid of the trap door and buy a magazine adopter kit. If there is movement between the lower receiver and the stock you may need to "bed" that. Love the "floating" barrel.
Nice to see the wood screw style swivel studs work just fine. Thanks for this video. Think that maybe they would fit a little nicer if you slightly countersunk the hole to the same diameter as the stud?
Thanks! The Hunter 700 weighs 2.9lbs and the Stock SPS weighs 1.5lbs. Not a noticeable weight difference when it is installed and it is probably worth it because the extra weight in the Magpul is probably mostly the aluminum bedding block.
I'm wondering if your able to run the oem 700 BDL hinged floor plate instead of the detachable magazine with the magpul 700l? Please help i cant find the answer anywhere!
On the bottom sling bolt did it cause the stock to split when you tighten the bolt? I asked because i see what looks like separation behind the bolt!!!!
Definitely looks like it did. A larger pilot probably should have been used for that large of a screw. Also I may be wrong but I assume now since the front sling screw was installed in the mlok hole, the mlok screws won't fit in that area if you decide down the road to swap it out for the bipod mount.
Remington recommendation is because they use those garbage plastic stocks. The 65 is because you are using a quality stick with an aluminum block. It’s the same as HS Precision and McMillan stocks. For my MK13 sniper rifle I set the front action screw at 70 in/lb and the rear at 65 in/lb.
I have made this happen using a Remmy factory SPS stock but lots of sanding and some Drexel work was involved. It can be done but it can also get ugly if you rush. Go real slow and you will be fine.
The butt stock portion behind the foregrip is two pieces bolted together. I slightly undersized my hole as I said in the video so that probably caused the two halves to separate a bit when I installed the stud. It is still very tight, and this can be corrected by drilling the right size hole. The instructions also say you can optionally tap the hole with a 10-32 tap, but it is a course thread stud so that didn't make sense to me.
I think because my sling already had standard sling swivels I just went that route. I’m thinking about getting their bipod, which installs in the M-Lok slots but then I would to reassess my sling mount I think.
007NunyaBizNess Sorry but I'm not sure, I didn't measure them before installing. They were both the same length and I would say between 3/8 and 1/2 in length.
GoProOutdoors it is hollow so if you take out the rear butt you can drill all the way through. The front you need to be very careful so you don't drill all the way through to the barrel cradle.
I noticed the there was no reply so.... Yes you can use the Pencil or Mountain barrel it just more space between the barrel and the stock, you can say it more free floated if you like.
JUst watched a 60 minute coverage of the Remington 700 going off without anyone touching the trigger. This has been the subject of a class action lawsuit. People have died from it. I am posting this merely to give a heads up to all owners of this gun to be aware of a potentially deadly issue. www.cbsnews.com/news/popular-remington-700-rifle-linked-to-potentially-deadly-defects-2/

Thank you for the video and the sharing of knowledge. I have the Hunter stock being delivered Monday and pick up the Rem 700 SPS Tactical on Tuesday.
Thanks, I didn't even think of taking the swivel screws out of the old stock. Saved me a bit and was easy enough to install.
Love the colour combo 👌
That is one fine weapon & stock! I'm going to buy a Remington 700 in a couple of different calibers. Good luck & good shooting.

Great video Davis Ranch, this stock is awesome and soooo easy to setup!
Bro love from india keep going amazing video, This is 30-06 rifle
Informative install and review. What's weight on the new Magpul stock compare to the original stock?
Thanks! The Hunter 700 weighs 2.9lbs and the Stock SPS weighs 1.5lbs. Not a noticeable weight difference when it is installed and it is probably worth it because the extra weight in the Magpul is probably mostly the aluminum bedding block.

So the 2 bottom bolts for the action were long enough in the magpul stock
On the bottom sling bolt did it cause the stock to split when you tighten the bolt? I asked because i see what looks like separation behind the bolt!!!!

How do you get the bolt out with out taking the stock off
Remington recommendation is because they use those garbage plastic stocks.

For my MK13 sniper rifle I set the front action screw at 70 in/lb and the rear at 65 in/lb.
Did you put thread lock on those bolts before you torqued them down or do the bolts not need them?
Does the spacing between the barrel and the stock effect your accuracy at all?
Cameron Schwartz It will improve accuracy, any contact with the stock can cause shots to be inconsistent.
I am not sure if I missed it, but what is the torque settings for installing the action trigger guard?
Uhhhh, ummmm and uhhh ummm lol couldn’t help myself lol great content!
Do you know if the detachable magazine and trigger guard kit intended for the magpul hunter will work with other Remington 700 stocks?
I have made this happen using a Remmy factory SPS stock but lots of sanding and some Drexel work was involved. It can be done but it can also get ugly if you rush. Go real slow and you will be fine.
I'm not a fan of that gap under the bolt. Any ideas? This is going to be a dirt/water magnet
My rifle size is 1115 mm can you please suggest me any fiber body for change my rifle please reply
Did the stock split between the rear stud and the first but pad spacer ?

Austin Kenney I thought the the same thing? I don’t think magpul has very good quality from what I’ve seen.
I will buy black 700 Magpul stock because it looks more tactical and SWAT snipers use black magpul stocks on R700 Sniper systems.
Can this switch be done without removiing the rail and scope?
Why didn’t you just buy the QD from Magpul? No drilling.
I think because my sling already had standard sling swivels I just went that route. I’m thinking about getting their bipod, which installs in the M-Lok slots but then I would to reassess my sling mount I think.
I am planning to buy Remington 700 and I will replace it's stock and chassis with Magpul stock and chassis.
What kind of studs did you use? Like brand and size...
GoProOutdoors The Sling Studs? They are just the ones that came with the factory stock. Not sure what size they are.
What model of 700 are you using?
Should had taken some shots before and after to show the improvement. Looks nice.
is that a sporter contour barrel ?
Yes
What was the length of your Sling Swivel Studs, front and rear?
007NunyaBizNess Sorry but I'm not sure, I didn't measure them before installing. They were both the same length and I would say between 3/8 and 1/2 in length.
How far would you say to drill into the rear?
GoProOutdoors it is hollow so if you take out the rear butt you can drill all the way through. The front you need to be very careful so you don't drill all the way through to the barrel cradle.
Is that a .270 Win?
Shouldn't use torque wrench to loosen bolts or nut
Torque wrenches are designed to be used in either capacity.
The Davis Ranch Oh! Your right, best wishes.
1:45 Free brass!
Is the stock starting to split on the top where the bolt slides in???
I no most these videos have the heavy bull barrels in that magpul stock.. it don't have to be bull barrel right .. urs doesn't look like a bull barrel
I noticed the there was no reply so.... Yes you can use the Pencil or Mountain barrel it just more space between the barrel and the stock, you can say it more free floated if you like.
Sorry, for some reason I don't get notified for all messages. I have the sporter barrel, but this stock will accommodate a bull barrel too.
55 what inch pounds
Yes inch pounds,NOT foot pounds
Glad I watched this the fit looks awful the gaps are huge. I will not be buying this for my hunting rifle.
Umm?

Those people need to a heads up then. They shouldn't be leaving one in the chamber, or the safety off.
