I think it's because a bunch of randos and casual watchers show up just to drag Dylan like medieval peasants gathering for a public execution in the town square while on these "apology" videos it's actual Troublemakers lol
I’m amazed people who watch Dylan’s channel do not understand the point of Dylan’s channel. I’m here for the chaos, and Dylan delivers with dazzle. In Dylan we trust for drama and giggles.

Dylan, I'm dissapointed with this apology video, where is the fake crying, the false promise for amends?? Also, you suddenly turning 30 in this video makes me feel so gaslit :(
One of the reasons i love Dylan is he never apologizes. Just doubles down. And triples down. And then moves on to a new controversy. And then quadruples down
@@Laura281_but it’s obviously bc he’s literally talking about shows and not real life, like we don’t have to apologize for having a different opinion it’s not that serious, and i like that about him🤭
@Laura281_ sorry but i think it’s so presumptuous and parasocial to assume that what he presents online, regarding tv shows, is any kind of reflection of how he conducts his personal relationships. we do not know him. this is all about a tv show, and he’s been very clear in the past that he regards tv/films as purely drama and entertainment without involving his rl beliefs and politics. i srsly think it’s important to remember that none of us actually know this man apart from tiny snippets he chooses to show. assuming that he never apologises to “the people around him” is wild
Rob was TV gold for those of us who take these "dating" shows for exactly what they are. I had to pause for 5 minutes to stop laughing when that man jumped in the pool. The discourse online made me feel so alone at that time. Thankful that Dylan made this.
I'm not gonna lie when I first watched the season I was on the same side of those who criticized Dylan. I took it seriously because I'm not the type of person to sign up for a show like that. So basically, I was putting my own mindset on to these people. But now, when watching his commentary on it, I felt the same as him. Most of these people know what they're doing. Causing drama to gain something from it. Even if that means they'd like to get with someone along the ride. But it's entertainment 100%. If you really wanted to find a spouse why choose a show where no one has gotten married after meeting there? Lol sorry for the long response, but yeah, I agree with you.
@@fandomlove6607 That's super valid! I think the dramatic nuances like the music and suspenseful pauses make us take the show wayyyy more serious than it has to be haha.
The best part of this community is that even though a lot of people disagree with dylan's opinions, it's a fact that they will come back to watch his next video😭😭
I watch Love Island and I've completely stopped checking social media cause the fan base is toxic. And like Dylan I don't take these cringe shows seriously and live for the drama.
him loving rob is the same as him loving ross from friends. both are entertaining. not necessarily good people. that's a pattern w dylan. in everything he watches. if somebody is athletic, stirs shit up, kills someone etc., they're dylans favorite. if youve watched him for years, you would be very well aware of that. dylan also heavily separates reality from fiction, which isn't true for a lot of people, including me. he is not as affected by media as others, and that's fine! his nuanced commentaries are what keep me watching. and he reads the comments asw and sees the backlash, he's not just making some halfassed video about it after that.
Yes that’s true but in reality TV there’s a lot of pattern that reflect how our patriarcal society works so it doesent feel good when a youtuber that you usually like disappoint you in liking some problematic peoples (Even if it’s a character and not real life )
@@leapj7373i totallt get what ur saying but dylan isnt interested in idolising or demonizing people. hes just giving his opinion based on his enjoyment of the reality show that is actually very manufactured by producers and he always encourages ppl to talk to him in the comments so ppl getting worked up abt whos his fav or who he doesnt care abt much just seems like too much when his criteria for who he likes is very different from most ppl who watch the show
Yeah like, why are we looking for respectable people and standards from a TV show when its whole purpose is to make drama and entertainment? Dylan enjoyed the show and its characters for what it was. We don’t know these people irl to judge them. As far as we know, they may as well have been playing certain “roles” just for entertainment purposes. Dylan never justified any of his actions and pointed out multiple times that he “loved” Rob for his drama and entertainment, not for his personality or choices. Also, I get that Rob was rude and so on… but there was a girl who kept telling her pair they were taking things slow and being “exclusive” (that Dylan also mentioned in this video but I forgot her name) and then left him again and again because she wanted to meet new people. Dylan never said anything bad about her nor shamed her for it, but she also did things that are “problematic” but no one seems to be offended that Dylan was ok with her? This doesn’t seem like a “who’s the good person” problem, but more of a gender problem. I’m also a woman, but I never assumed that by Rob saying he didn’t feel the vibe with Leah he meant she was ugly, he literally never said that. However, I saw many comments from women saying he meant that, which doesn’t make any sense! I get that misogyny ain’t cool and we’re all feminists, but let’s point out stuff when it is ACTUALLY harming us rather than when it offends some women out of insecurity. Dylan “supporting Rob” (he never did) wasn’t because of his gender at ALL.
Is it crazy that I actually love videos like this? Maybe because I'm not genuinely upset at his takes, it's more of bickering to me and fun discussion, but I love when content creators react to commenters and discuss points from their previous videos. This is so fun, it's like a little chatting session.
THIS IS WHY I LOVE DYLAN, he’s actually genuine, instead of most youtubers that would’ve just bowed to their audience and apologized simply because they don’t wanna lose following, not because they’ve in anyway changed their opinion. He stands by what he thinks is right. Well, love island is definitely not something to get angry about at all lol, but i still appreciate it.
You're good, Dylan, people take trash tv waaay too seriously. Besides it was pretty clear that you liked Rob, not because he's a good person, but because of the drama. The backlash in the comments was crazy.
I love this community. The fact that people are comfortable expressing the disagreement and your comfortability laughing in our faces is amazing. I hope you never stop
It was kinda crazy to go through the comment section of that video as someone who didn't necessarily agree with you but was entertained; people were freaking out and accusing you of holding certain beliefs because of how you reacted to an entertainment-prioritized, dramatized reality TV dating show LOL.
It makes me so happy on a visceral level that he does not apologize to any of these whiny people in our community 😭 like he explained in the ORIGINAL video already that he likes Rob so much solely because of the dramatic entertainment that he brings to the show. People just love to complain. Really glad Dylan doesn't stand for it lmao

Exactly. He didn't say anything that was one way or another on anyone. The closest is came was the "If this is what he's doing, then cool but he's not doing that, so boo". This is why it's hard to take people seriously when they get so worked up over a reality show. Had a girlfriend that watched that 90 day fiance series and got so upset watching the episodes that she a week later, she'd still be "I can't believe they said that!" and "I was on the message boards and someone had a theory that-".

@@anafloreslol If you think reality tv is real in any way, then you are either very young or very naive. Literally every moment caught on camera is staged and sometimes even scripted. The whole point is to be dramatic and problematic…because this is for entertainment! It’s not a domestic violence PSA 😂
@@anafloreslol most of these "reality" shows are scripted. And even if this one isn't, the contestants are hamming up their reactions for entertainment and get more screen time. And what someone says about a show, meant to entertain the audience, is not and should not be indicative of how someone perceives the world. People should separate fiction from reality, and Dylan very much so does that.
@@anafloreslolReality TV is very scripted. Even contestants from former Reality TV shows have come out talking about how scripted it really is. All production cares about is setting up storylines & causing drama. There’s lots of WatchMojo vids on this. Where it gets dangerous for these Reality Stars is when people like you forget it’s very scripted, & attack the Reality Show contestants on their social media platforms, for things they did on TV.
I also really appreciate him pointing out he reacted to this in a solo sphere of influence. A lot of us were subjected to rob discourse during and constantly throughout the show. I think it makes sense dylan (who didn’t engage or watch this live) had none of the social influence about his opinion on rob. plus i see his point. Rob made for GREAT TV. Plus they really do subject these people to forms of manipulation to get good dramatic tv it is not always a reflection of their actual personalities
also he said that he had watched it in like 2 or 3 days and when you consume so much of something in a short time frame, you are bound to forget things and get tired
me and my mom were talking about this and i totally agree ! we see cherry picked moments that are meant to portray the most entertaining and dramatic aspects of the person. they are also in a house full of people they just met and completely isolated from any type of actual normal social interaction outside of that (tv, social media, phones are specific to just islander contacts, etc.). not to mention the producers whispering tidbits to intentionally try to stir things up. i’m sure if you put me in that situation and only showed bits and pieces of the full picture i probably wouldn’t come across as the best version of myself either.
@@izzyisabratalso your opinion of characters gets skewed when binging so many episodes in such a short time, usually to an extreme. not that i think this happened to dylan bc he had to rewatch it to write down his notes about the show, i just wanna point out that it happens lol like i’ve cried over characters i probably never would have had i not binged the series in an afternoon
i think there’s simply an internet wide issue of people always assuming someone HAS to mean the worst thing possible with their words even if the person doesn’t directly state that’s how they feel. i understand it on some level, as implication can often speak just as loud as the actual words, but assuming everyone is some evil monster with the most heinous perspective possible on a situation is just going to lead to you being so horrifically jaded that you don’t even want to talk to people anymore 😭

Ridiculous he even had to make this video, but glad he didn’t really apologize - in true Dylan fashion LMAO. We love you Dylan ❤️
These people are so chronically online. Like, this show is in no way political or affecting them in real time, PEOPLE ARE ALLOWED TO HAVE OPINIONS. In the end, it's all entertainment and the fact that they're sweating buckets over Dylan not mentioning something or (god forbid) liking something that is again, ENTERTAINING, is wild work 😭
what i find so interesting about things is the way when someone's perspective is different from theirs and it's in the majority- instead of it being seen as a DIFFERENCE it's always used as something that's then a segway for an attack of character and making assumptions about them, it's so tiring
This!!! I was looking for this! It’s not like it was a disagreement about morals and values which would be completely different. It was a difference about people on a reality tv show 🙄
There were comments saying "I always forget that Dylan is a man", accusing him of being sexist and demeaning to women, while don't holding any accountability for men, which is not true at all. Or "This is the reason Dylan's single", big para social assumption on their part. It's wild. Can't a man enjoy a little drama queen?
yeah it’s the same reason people love russell and boston rob on survivor… they don’t love them because they’re good moral people but because they are good at creating entertainment and interesting situations for the characters
11:15 Exactlyyy 😂😂😂 Reality TV ain’t real-real - it’s all about stirring the pot and bringing the dramaaa. Like, how do people even take these folks seriously? Just chill and enjoy the chaos. It’s not a love story, it’s a plot twist every episode!
around 4:30 , yeah people tend to misunderstand "understanding why someone did something" with "i stand with them". for some reason people can not comprehend that people can put a reason to why someone will act a certain way (even negative) and that doesnt mean they have to agree with them. it's actually jarring people thought you were on his side wow.
Used to experience this quite a lot. Then I realised I should just refrain from speaking like that with those individuals💀 Keep it simple for those individuals. Don’t say anything too logical, empathetic and pondering…
yes!! empathy doesn’t mean agreement! like just bc i can empathize with a bad person doesn’t mean i support their choices, it just means i see why they did it and can feel for them as a human being
I think him empathizing with rob + loving rob for the drama he brings could’ve confused people. I never watched love island and Dylan gave me the impression that rob was a good guy who was misunderstood
loving the drama is what we’re here for, not to hyperanalyze every action someone makes on a largely scripted and edited reality show. I think there’s too many parasocial things going on with people in regards to reality tv sometimes because those people we see on the screen are almost always acting, or at least playing shit up for the cameras. Because it’s their literal job to be entertainment for the masses. based take. We appreciate a different opinion and it’s nice to see someone who ain’t afraid to have one that differs from all the teeny boppers who scroll on Twitter all day looking to make a problem from anything
Dylan understands the point of reality tv. ITS MEANT TO BE TRASH. Some people need to stop dying on hills for people on a reality show. Sidenote: dylan growing up watching big brother makes SO much sense
17:40 yeah and also u mentioned later than it can also be manipulative like😭did they not watch the whole thing? i feel like u did great at just analysing and enjoying a show cuz thats what this channel is about ppl need to stop reading too much into things
lol they were stating their opinion on the aaron/kaylor fight, they weren’t saying dylan was supporting it, just adding their commentary on why the situation was effed up
If you look at any other reality TV commentary Dylan’s made and the way he analyzes characters (namely Scotty from the Ultimatum comes to mind), he easily calls out manipulators and truly bad actors, whether they bring the drama or not. For all Rob’s tanter tantrums and faults, Dylan saw a reasonably good guy bringing action to a dating show. It was chaos, and immature, and messy, but it wasn’t mean. It wasn’t genuinely concerning like Scotty. Rob isn’t Scotty, and there’s a huge difference. Don’t know why an apology video had to come out when there’s hours of videos showing that you’re not just comparing Rob to characters on the show, you’re gauging his character compared to every other reality TV star you’ve encountered, and truly objectively, he’s not that bad 😂 Keep doing what you’re doing, don’t let these haters get you down. ❤
Maybe more of a maturity thing than an age thing. But there might be other stuff that we didn't see in the show that lead Leah to think that way. Or maybe it hit a sore spot for her and added to some insecurities she was already sensitive about. Who knows? But some women (not all) can overthink things and read into hidden meanings that a guy didn't intend. Part of it is just how people communicate differently. But as a woman, I have noticed that it's common for us to over analyze details and potentially get hidden meanings from it. A lot of guys I know are very, "It's not that deep, bro." Obviously, this is all very generalized.
@DecemberDaydreamsdefinitely. In our patriarchal society, women’s value tend to come from sex and men’s more labor than sex. Not all women feel that way/internalized that, nor are women the only ppl to feel that way but if you were socialized as a woman, it’s pretty likely.
@@xXOpenYourHeart759Xx9 times out of 10 what a guy says is quite literally what he means. Why a lot of people still seem to be confused about this when it’s been this way for a very long time

I gotta say, when I entered the comments section of that video after watching the entire thing, I got such whiplash. That’s not to say people weren’t justified in their opinions but it had turned into a full blown gender war. So many people saying or threatening to unsubscribe, it was a bit disheartening to see. I never watched the show (maybe saw a few clips of Serena on TikTok cuz that argument was awesome), I literally get my reality tv fix from Dylan alone. The comment section ruined it for me tbh, it turned something fun into accusations of misogyny and moral judgments of his character.
I think the topic of the video probably drew in a lot of people who weren't regular subscribers/viewers, so hopefully the percentage of idio... individuals who can't functionally handle a man on RUclips sharing his opinion on reality TV if it's different from their own isn't representative of his core viewership.
Exactly! Every one of us who have been here a while and love Dylan for who he is, is mature enough to realize that 1 its just fake tv for entertainment and 2 his sense of humor is something not everyone will enjoy but we do
I think a lot of the people were joking, but some were genuine and I agree a lot of it was an overreaction to toxicity on a show dedicated to drama and toxicity
Well maybe because Dylan does have mysoginistic tendencies and his followers hold him accountable for it??? Like there are only so many “cancellations” that can be just subscribers being “parasocial” or “don’t know Dylan’s humour”. Y’all just don’t like to hold this man accountable.
exactly! I did watch the season, and honestly even though I love Leah, I really like Rob too (even though I'm a girl and I guess im "buying into the patriarchy "lol). I know Rob made a lot of mistakes, but I think seeing his personality after the show depicts that he wasn't acting like himself while in the show, especially because he doesn't like bringing up his experience there. I don't know if its just me, but I feel like a lot of Dylan's audience has ruined the fun in his videos lately. I love the Ooga Booga community, but they've been really critical recently. The whole point of his channel is to distract and entertain us from the things going on in the world, and I feel like the community is ruining that unfortunately :(
15:38 "Why are you watching this?" If you aren't able to take things with irony (which is the foundation of Dylan's content) why even follow his content then? People just didn't pass the vibe check :(
On the last video I saw the comments before the video and I thought it was going to be so much worse, everyone kept calling Dylan a Rob defender and I never really felt like he defended Rob, he more so loved him because he loves the drama which he said in the video itself.
I find it ironic how those who made personal insults are on the same level as their perception of Rob. Not to mention the parasocial nature of those comments, whether it was their dislike/hatred of Rob or their solidarity for Leah, was ridiculous and unhinged behavior.
It was more so “I see myself in Leah, bc someone did me dirtyyyy” and they just became blind w rageeee. I have never watched love island, but clips of both of those people show that they’re both manipulative. Rob w the weaponized feelings and Leah with the shit talking behind backs and acting as if she never meant it ‘that way’. It’s just sad to see people bash and insult someone who has nothing to do with the whole show over liking a character they have trauma with.
@re-red0 please don't throw these words around as if they mean nothing, abuse is an actual serious thing and using it to describe this (HEAVILY PRODUCED) situation is just trivializing the word. It's also stupid because you clearly didn't listen to anything he said in the video, you just want to be mad and there's no real conversation with someone like that so... bye
I know this is why I stay a way from most people. To actually get offended by his comments is so strange to me. They can disagree all they want, but these people seem genuinely hurt by it😅
“I don’t know how to help you” is a common phrase used in my head when socializing with my drama magnet friends. Isn’t it annoying when the answer is RIGHT there and it just goes *shmooo* right over their head in favor of their own dramatics.
I'm gonna take a moment to defend Rob because everyone seems to have forgotten when Leah dumped a bucket of water over his head bc she thought he was two-faced and then kissed Kendall right afterwards because "I think he wants to kiss me"?? When Rob mentioned he was mad afterwards, she got the biggest grin on her face and was like, "You were mad? No you weren't," so then Rob quickly changed his tone to "Nah I wasn't mad" but after that, I think he lost a lot of interest. Leah was the one who displayed toxic traits imo, and he reacted accordingly. She was so insecure about him not liking her that every conversation they had became about whether he still liked her or not. That's what he meant when he said, "You never care about my feelings, it's always about how you feel," bc her actions have shown that to be the case. She's insulted him, demeaned him, kissed other men for fun, seemed happy at the idea he was jealous, and then complained when he stopped liking her as much. I think Rob's only real flaw is that he's bad at communicating. He could've said this clearly but instead he kept it simple, brief, and just carried on. Very boy-like way of communicating.
Where's the sexism? I don't see it. People are just looking for any little stupid thing to get offended and it's annoying. I'm a woman and a feminist myself btw, but people online are too extreme about things that don't really matter. Touch grass please. @@HelloBombshell21

I watch Love Island and I've completely stopped checking social media cause the fan base is toxic. And like Dylan I don't take these cringe shows seriously and live for the drama.
100%!!!
Quite literally 😂
him loving rob is the same as him loving ross from friends. both are entertaining. not necessarily good people. that's a pattern w dylan. in everything he watches. if somebody is athletic, stirs shit up, kills someone etc., they're dylans favorite. if youve watched him for years, you would be very well aware of that. dylan also heavily separates reality from fiction, which isn't true for a lot of people, including me. he is not as affected by media as others, and that's fine! his nuanced commentaries are what keep me watching. and he reads the comments asw and sees the backlash, he's not just making some halfassed video about it after that.
Yes that’s true but in reality TV there’s a lot of pattern that reflect how our patriarcal society works so it doesent feel good when a youtuber that you usually like disappoint you in liking some problematic peoples (Even if it’s a character and not real life )
@@leapj7373no, it's a reality TV show. You need to learn to separate real life from fiction
@@leapj7373 I don't totally get what you are saying and have trouble grasping the conclusion from the starting point.

No fr it’s so embarrassing

16:17 it's not gender thing, it's age thing, I don't think anyone except teenegers or very inmature adult would get that conclusion from what Rob said
Maybe more of a maturity thing than an age thing.

The whole point of his channel is to distract and entertain us from the things going on in the world, and I feel like the community is ruining that unfortunately :(
Me halfway through the Love Island video: oh yikes dylan’s gonna have to make an ooga booga video for this one😭
15:38 "Why are you watching this?" If you aren't able to take things with irony (which is the foundation of Dylan's content) why even follow his content then? People just didn't pass the vibe check :(
On the last video I saw the comments before the video and I thought it was going to be so much worse, everyone kept calling Dylan a Rob defender and I never really felt like he defended Rob, he more so loved him because he loves the drama which he said in the video itself.
the “as someone who’s college still exists” is hilarious 😂😂😂😂
0:12 damn i got flashbacks from the last apology video😭
8:42 the way this is just dylan being rob’s lawyer😭😭😭😭
Lmao people are so intense for a REALITY TV SHOW for no reason. Touch some grass, guys 😅
season 7 feels like his escape room situation
18:22 "I don't take it seriously at all" is not convincing right after arguing with these people line for line lol.
Never change Dylan 😆
I find it ironic how those who made personal insults are on the same level as their perception of Rob. Not to mention the parasocial nature of those comments, whether it was their dislike/hatred of Rob or their solidarity for Leah, was ridiculous and unhinged behavior.
yes!!!
Frrrr
Justifying gaslighting and borderline abus1ve behavior does make you morally questionable irl whether u like it or not. The hate is warranted lmao
@re-red0 please don't throw these words around as if they mean nothing, abuse is an actual serious thing and using it to describe this (HEAVILY PRODUCED) situation is just trivializing the word. It's also stupid because you clearly didn't listen to anything he said in the video, you just want to be mad and there's no real conversation with someone like that so... bye
God forbid ppl have a different opinion on something🙄
I know this is why I stay a way from most people. To actually get offended by his comments is so strange to me. They can disagree all they want, but these people seem genuinely hurt by it😅
having different opinions makes things more interesting people get so uncomfortable with it which is super weird
I don't like Rob, but jesus I couldn't give less fucks about you having a different opinion. Some people need to relax
Didn’t like leah but nobody is crying or complaining about her annoying behavior 💁🏾
You can tell Dylan is being really grown up about the situation. I mean, there is not a single nose ring in sight.
“I don’t know how to help you” is a common phrase used in my head when socializing with my drama magnet friends. Isn’t it annoying when the answer is RIGHT there and it just goes *shmooo* right over their head in favor of their own dramatics.
Its very interesting how the comments in the last video made your takes seem CRAZYY, i watched the video after and was like “oh that’s it?” 😂
His lamp being on red is so funny to me☠️🤣🤣
dylan shoulder reveal 14:10
this is such an unserious problem i’m cracking up
I'm gonna take a moment to defend Rob because everyone seems to have forgotten when Leah dumped a bucket of water over his head bc she thought he was two-faced and then kissed Kendall right afterwards because "I think he wants to kiss me"??
People actually getting upset over… Love Island 💀
Sexism*
Where's the sexism? I don't see it. People are just looking for any little stupid thing to get offended and it's annoying. I'm a woman and a feminist myself btw, but people online are too extreme about things that don't really matter. Touch grass please. @@HelloBombshell21
@@HelloBombshell21on Love Island. Are you surprised?
@HelloBombshell21 its almost like that's the whole point of love island mate 🧍🏾♀️
😂
I've commented this on the actual Love Island Season 6 video but these types of shows turn people into armchair psychologists.
All of a sudden they know everything about relationships and are able to analyze people perfectly, it's hilarious to watch. 😂
If I remember correctly most of the comments were respectful even if they disagreed with you, but there were also some completely unhinged ones, so I'm glad you didn't take them too seriously.
I didn’t even know anything was going on until the subreddit lol
Same😭 the subreddit really went crazyy the past 2 days
I mean wasnt the problem the fact that he only had empathy for the men and was building the whole show narrative only from their pov tho?👀
Yeah but somehow the whole comment of this video has mass amnesia😭
Likee the only thing that felt off to me about the love island video was how heavily biased and empathetic dylan was for the men but had none of that energy for almost any women.
i don't watch love island but i found it abundantly clear that Dylan "loving" someone means he loves how messy their drama is?? Not, like, 'they're a good person' type of loving??
"I'm sorry that u guys r a bunch of babies 😏" IM DEAD 😂😂
I actually didn’t expect it at first.. but I remembered that this is literally Dylan and he doesn’t take accountability for anything😂 deflection baby
