- If you are trying to crack a Winrar file, replace the zip to rar.
Example: rar2john.exe rarfilename.rar 'angle bracket' hash.txt
john.exe rarfilename.rar hash.txt

youtube won't allow to type angle bracket in the description. So when you type in cmd please replace 'angle bracket' with right angle bracket on your keyboard.
It is assumed that all files in each archive have the same password.
If that is not the case, the hash may be uncrackable. To avoid this, use
option -o to pick a file at a time.

And then
John.exe filename.extension hash.txt --format= whirlpool0
You will get the password

It is "cd Desktop" not "cd desktop"
