Yes, NADs are awesome. If i would not be an - like you said - 14 years old student i think that i would own one too. But for the moment and the price i paid, my Technics amp performs great with my bookshelf Speaker by Technics. I also got two empty Elac ELR 908 or 809, not sure, cabinets and i am looking for some replacement drivers. I own an old Kenwood KA-4002, from the late 70's, which my mother got from her dead brother. Pretty warm sounding solid state amp.
Yes I know, but knowing how to well design a box to the proper driver and a good amp it can be a way cheaper alternative with almost the same results, but i do give props for the amp and its ability to be set digitally.
Congratulations on the SVS subwoofer Maxishine! Finally you started investing some money on AUDIO. The SVS PB13 is probably the best subwoofer on the market.. under $3000 at least! Great, great bass for the dollar, even though $2500 is no amount so snuff at. The king kong of audio is the Snell THX REFERENCE system.. like $1 million lol

You're absolutely right, of course. I use B&W 800 series for my home cinema - but I made my own sub setup. Why? Because you can pay thousands for things like this, but at the end of the day my isobaric downfiring loft setup which only probably cost about 500-600 including drivers/wood/etc. would utterly put this thing to shame.
The cinema subwoofer market is awash with people who think more money = better quality. All you're paying for is some wood, an amp, x amount of drivers, and a designer.

would it not be cheaper to buy some car subs for a much lower price and a amp and get the same sound(most likely louder) at a cheaper price? atm ive got 2x 1000watt amps and 2 15inch kicker L5's in my truck and got it all for around 500 used which would be more new yes, but still less then $2500 by far. would it not just make more sense to use car subs or is there something im missing lol
