Watching you after many many other tutorials (my 79 should have shipped 2 days ago,and is late) I have learned some things. I learned to sew on my g’moms treadle singer
I’m glad this video could be of some value! Sewing on a treadle machine seems like a real feat, I think finding your rhythm in the treadle would be the real mission!
I am so happy I came across your video. I never really looked at this machine. I will be considering this brand, lot of features that I could utilize. Thank you so much for sharing.
You are so welcome! I have been enjoying the machine a lot. i hope to do a catch up video after I've worked with it for a few months to review my likes and any possible differences or challenges.
Yeah! I’m so happy for you. Your new machine looks like a lot of fun. The more I look at the dress you’re wearing, the more I like it. I love that you bound each side with the matching fabric. That was great. I’ll have to do the same when I make my outfit.
Thank you so much, it was my most EPIC Treat yourself moment (hobby edition)! It's been so long since I have really invested in my interest to this level, but I am very happy with the machine. Also, I am so pleased, my cheeks are hurting from smiling. YOU NOTICED! I feel like, sometimes we make things and fiddle with all these minute details that take FOREVER, since we are so intimate with the garments, and those details may hardly ever be noticed by someone else, but we are adamant about them lol. The neckband detail was one of those for me, it took so long because I mistakenly did not attach the bias neckband pieces they way bias strips are sewn together, I just sewed it straight up the middle- yikes! But I hand slip stitched it in, and made it work. And your mention of it really does my little sewist heart so much good! Thank you! I hope you nail it on your outfit too!
Ahhh Thank you! Yes, other Bernina lovers, ok so I'm in good company lol. I have been enjoying it. Still reaching for the sewing foot lever where it used to be on my old machine lol So I have to get used to this computerized thing!
I researched machines today because I too decided I’m ready for an upgrade and this is the one I decided on! I’m going to get it tomorrow and I’m sooooo excited! 🎉😂
WOOOOHOOO Monica, enjoy your new Bernette. I wanted to just ask though- are you getting a good deal on it (Pre-Black Friday sale?)?- with the Thanksgiving sales coming up I don't want you to get it this week and learn that they have special sale prices for Black Friday next week. Maybe you can ask your dealership if they plan to run any specials on the machine. I know it's a big investment when we treat ourselves to an upgrade, so I'm always looking for good savings where I can. But you will enjoy it, it's a wonderful machine so far. I got mine during the early black Friday sale around this time last year and with my savings, I splurged and got the additional presser feet set and ordered a straight stitch throat plate because I knew I planned to sew with silky materials and such. Happy sewing, I am so happy for you!
@@TIMAbyFK Currently its on sale everywhere for $500 off, and it's being touted as the black Friday sale. I'm going to the Bernina dealer near me and when I spoke with them they said the sales sheet would be in today which runs to the end of the month. I'm assuming it's this same deal but will see. Do you think it could go lower?
@@monicaboston8123 That's wonderful! Awesome, I know so many places start their "Black Friday," sales so much earlier nowadays, so I'm happy you're getting a deal on yours, makes it feel like an even bigger win!
@@monicaboston8123 WHen I picked mine up last Black Friday it was going for $999 (pre tax), based on the price it was last year I think that would've worked out close to what your sale is. Congrats and. I hope you enjoy it- the knee lift was a bit to get used to- but it's the feature I missed most when I couldn't use the machine. Enjoy your upgrade!
Hi, I notice that you have now had your Bernette B77 for twelve months now and I was wondering if you can do a follow up review on the machine. Thanks.
congrats on your new machine! btw i just wanted to follow up on that simplicity wrap dress pattern...though it says on the envelope that it is suitable for jersey fabrics when i looked at the instructions, i would only use wovens b/c it has darts/princess seams/facings. i don't think it's actually good for lightweight knits at all. just FYI.
Oh thank you, it's been such a treat getting to know the machine and it's features! Also, thanks for that pattern update! I will certainly keep that in mind when I finally make that pattern! I can't wait to see what you've made!
Yes, thanks! After buying extra presser feet many years later for my first Singer sewing machine, I understood the value and decided to invest in the extra feet at the onset this time around
The new sewing machine looks fab, can you please let me know how much did you pay it for after discount? Am in U.K. And these Bernette 77 is around £1300 that is super expensive 😭
Hi! I agree they are a hefty price, the Bernette 77 retails here for $1,749, I got it on sale for $799 off the original price. So it was still quite an investment for sure. I went in for a B38, that model also seems great and it less expensive. I hope you find a machine you'll be thrilled with! Sorry for the late reply, if they are not on sale right now, definitely look out for new year's sales.
Linda, I have been LOVING this knee lever, it's so clever. I'll be honest, I have been reaching for the presser foot lever near the needle (Where it used to be on my old Singer machine) and I have to keep reminding myself that I have to use the button now, or the knee lever! It'll all just take some getting used to, so I am thrilled to be experimenting.
@@TIMAbyFK I have the digital Bernina (can’t remember the number ) but I have have used Bernina machines for about 30 years and would not ever change they last for absolutely years. The foot lever is essential for doing close work where you need both hands on your fabric. Glad you are enjoying your new machine !
I just started a quilt last night (first quilt ever!) and you are so correct about having the foot lever handy when I've needed both hands to hold the fabric squares just right!

Congratulations on the new baby. I too am a Bernina fan. I’ve had mine for 12 years and absolutely no regrets. Have fun playing with it

I missed a 99 cent simplicity sale ?! Dang.
Oh, I may have misspoken, it was a $1.99 Simplicity Sale, but McCall's goes on sale starting this Thursday at JoAnn!
That lever is for the foot lift
