I always felt so sorry for poor Bert, having to suffer from Ernie's stupidity in so many of these segments. Where's the scene of Bert & Ernie each painting their own pictures of a trunk, pipe, and glasses, but a different meaning of each one? Did that originate in a later season?
I don't know who I should feel bad for. either Bert because he has to deal with Ernie's stupidity 24/7, or should I feel bad for Ernie because Bert is always berating him and criticizing him and yelling at him while Ernie is acting all innocent.
Ernie could get on your nerves sometimes, like in the Surprise Present piece, where he never shuts his trap to listen to Bert tell him the present ain't for his behind.
