Back in 2009 I was part of a trophy truck team and we actually drove the truck in this video. That Robbie, Gordon is driving. A 1985 trophy truck that was only pushing 730 horsepower. We made that truck catch a class one buggy. I missed that truck to this day. I still have pictures And I've met Robbie, Gordon on 2 separate occasions and I've met most of these guys in this race. Amazing people
Greatest field of drivers competing in this event. Walker Evans in the Dodge, Ivan "The Ironman" in his Toyota, Jimmie Johnson who started in Off-Roading before he went on to be the greatest NASCAR driver of all time.
Thanks for posting this. The driver lineup introductions were almost as good as the race itself. So many young, familiar faces of future and current stars. Also I like that you left the commercials in. That dodge Dakota commercial near the beginning struck a cord
In the 90’s I chased for Dave Turner, he drove a Mazda class 7s. It seems like a whole life ago. Nelson and Nelson’s shop was down the street from our city yard(San Jacinto). Did that for four years. Had a blast……. OH! But yes, we HAVE GOTTEN THAT OLD!!!!
I prefer the stiffness of the suspensions back those days, seems like feels not too soft but neither so hard. Nowadays seems that they struggle from moving over the obstacles because of such soft suspension
badass
Best intro ever! Dave Despain was awesome!
So good!

I still remember that opening scene from when it aired, Dave standing on the track having enough trust in Simon to not hit him. That was awesome.
