More than 750,000 visas have been given this year from the United States alone. African Americans have been returning in abundance this year, and thousands are still there now. There are so many people arriving in Ghana this month, Ghana is granting visas-on-arrival for the next month to accommodate the heavy load.
Roland's interview with his excellency Nana Akufo-Addo is the ONLY interview he has granted to an American journalist discussing "The Year of Return" initiative.

We should back both of these Presidents with all our strength and might. Not every President in Africa is corrupt. Money is not everything in this world. Africa is the richest continent in terms of natural resources, yet the youth do not have hope and have to walk the deserts, to sail the Mediterranean for greener pastures. Knowledge, ideas, innovation, education, skills training are the keys that open up the opportunities for development, progress, prosperity and happiness. This is how Africa will do it, using our resources wisely in the process. This is what the visionary President of Ghana has in mind and already, he has policies running in Ghana towards these goals.

His father became the Prime Minister of Ghana after Nkrumah. His father was part of the historic figures that started the path to Independence of Ghana and brought Nkrumah from overseas to Ghana to finish the job of obtaining independence for Ghana though they later drifted apart from Nkrumah. WHY I RESPECT THE PRESIDENT OF GHANA.
After a good Stock market performance over the past two years, This year has been a little challenging. This is just a cyclical event that happens every election year. Same happened in 2016 because governments normally tend to overspend during election years hence the moody outlook. In fact, banking sector profits are at an all time high. The uncertainty is actually about 3 main items which all sums up to one major outlook by western interests. "Nana Addo is becoming a thorn in the flesh of Western financial interests in Ghana. They are as follows:
1, The cancellation of the Private Sector Power Concession Agreement with the US governments Millennium Challenge Account. In the president's own words, he said "we will not sell our critical infrastructure". This is actually consistent with his outlook and posture on such matters when he abstained from voting to sell Ghana Telecom to Vodafone during the Kuffuor years when he was a government minister and legislator.
2, The implementation of the policy of building a new and separate natural gas pipeline bypassing the Chevron controlled West African Gas Pipeline which they thought will never happen. The pipeline is to span 80% of Ghana's coastal territories. This will cause a huge dent in WAPCo's projected future profitability while enabling Ghana to potentially export natural gas to Togo and Cote d'ivoire. The exorbitant fees been demanded by WAPCo for reverse flow of natural gas is what necessitated this move. Ghana will be transporting natural gas at the cost of $1.56 per MMBtu as opposed to $4.05 per MMBtu and higher as demanded by WAPCo.
3, The diversification of Ghana's bond issuance to include Samurai and Panda bonds aka. Japanese Yen and Chinese Renminbi based bonds. This lessons reliance on the Euro and US Dollars for international transactions.
Though Nana Addo has cultivated foreign investors, everywhere you look, he is usurping long standing, very profitable Western interests in Ghana without raising much alarm. You can't fight Anglo saxon hegemony aka. White supremacy and not expect it to fight back.
    Kudos to the president!

You couldn't have been more wrong. There are more than 100 languages spoken in Ghana alone with 11 of them taught in schools; previously 9. The official and language of instruction in school is English. In Nigeria the numbers are even higher in regards to language. You probably think Africa is maybe one country. Idk
The fact that Kiswahili, a bantu language predominant around the great lakes region is taught in school does not mean that the whole continent will be speaking one language. Rwanda making it their official language is only specific to Rwanda. Africa will eventually have a common market and possibly a common currency. Not a common language

This is a good opportunity to share ideas.
Africa, as a continent, has to go into history and take inspirations from our ancient kingdoms and evolve a system of governance that would bring stability and progress to the people and do away with the current western tug-of-war democracy, which only purpose was to create division and weaken our societies. Ghana still has such cultural institutions which are well structured and is a pride of their subjects and africanists.
The continent is a playground where foreigners control everything, from the stuff we take into our bellies to the toilet papers. Our contribution is insignificant. So be informed that the task is overwhelming.
The progress we need in Africa can mainly come through savoir-faire. And those of you who have the desire to help build Africa have to acquire the know-how to make your projects a reality.
So remind yourself to stay healthy, walk if you can't run, crawl if you can't walk, in other words, be in movement to achieve excellence in whatever discipline you pursue, as was advised by the sage of blessed memory, Dr MLK.
There is room for every child of the motherland who wants to make impact on the continent.
And to Mr Roland, please work hard to make the project of regular summit of African /AA a reality.
    God bless you all.

Why didn't african leaders have the foresight of outreach in this way to the african diaspora before is a mystery to me. I mean in hindsight this should have been a no-brainer for african leaders. Any way this president clearly made a heck of a good choice in making a public outreach to black people in the west like this. At the very least the tourism industry would have benefited tremendously for this year and african people who are descendants of slavery in the west would have made a connection. Hopefully these connections will be long lasting and will lead to greater things.

There is a change happening. If you read more into African history. There was a lot of assassination of African leaders because they were trying help change the lives of their people. If today was in the 60's , this president would have been killed by now with those views.
