We need to get this animated short subject picture and all other short subject pictures back onto theatre screens instead of the advertisements of local businesses.
Do you feel that we should have the short subject pictures, especially animated ones like this on theatre screens instead of the advertisements of local businesses?
I remember experiencing this before on VHS with other Christmas-related cartoons including Toys Will Be Toys, the Steadfast Tin Soldier told by Mr. Piper, the Candlemaker, the Christmas Visitor, and Ginger Nut's Christmas Circus cartoon!
This is one of the very few films Lotte Reiniger made in full color. When I was growing up there was a series on KCTS called "Shadowtime Tales" that featured some of her work.
Now all we need to do is to petition TCM (Turner Classic Movies) to air this animated short subject picture next Christmas in between “KING OF KINGS” and “THE GREATEST STORY EVER TOLD”.
I used to watch this as a child. What a nostalgic and precious video. Thanks for sharing!
Yes childhood memories. This came out in 1956 and I'm only 34 but we had it on VHS growing up.

Better to have this on theatre screens instead of the advertisements of local businesses.
