Very impressive and informative conversation indeed. I found the governor not only informed but also pragmatic! Young man, your best days are yet to come! Keep up the hard work, continuous improvement, and pragmatism that you have abundantly exhibited!
As usual, you made me excited ! So, i need to give my praise by applause for my country's young officials. You guys are becoming inky for our nation's transformational change !!💯👌
Great explanation! really appreciation your insightful explanations! I have confident that this interview will clarify and correct confusions and misinterpretations regarding our economic reform as well as the the achievements we have witnessing. You are the right person in the right post. I thank you both. Viva Ethiopia !!!
Undoubtedly articulate, intelligent, and highly capable for the role. However, balancing optimism with practical, people-centered solutions will be essential to building trust and support for these reforms. A little heavy on technical and policy-driven jargon, would be valuable to hear more about the long-term vision beyond immediate macroeconomic stabilization, particularly around education, healthcare, and poverty alleviation. Crucial that these reforms prioritize Ethiopian interests, rather than the influence of the IMF and World Bank - great focus on the private sector growth and FDI (wish there was more on the local businesses and communities and it's impact on rural communities and the informal sector? both critical for our economic fabric. All in all thumbs up, awesome stuff!
Right person on the right place and time. Thank you for elaborating in details on the new economic reforms. Home- Grown Economic Reform 👌 increased private sector participation, Market liberalization, IMF support… if implemented effectively for sure the reform will lead higher GDP growth and improving higher living standards as well. On the other hand, government needs to work hard on things that could hinder the reforms process like ongoing conflicts in different regions which discourage investment. I still believe that there is a gap in coordination across the government agencies , that needs attention, too. ኢትዮጵያዬ ከድህነት ወጥታ በልፅጋ በአለም ከፍ ትላለች። Thank you both of you 🙏👌❤️
Whether you like it or not this guy will leave a dent in Ethiopian economy, and comparatively he is very young for this position good 👏 Job Ato mehertu
I like your minds, Hon Mamo, and Billene. Besides, the quality of the podcast (video, sound system, studio) is amazing. Moreover, the media present boosts the confident of citizens, so it is great at initiation.
I hope Mamo, Abiy and those top economic appointees in that corrupt country genuinely work hard and improve the living standards of the majority (poor) by starting tackling inflation and corruption to begin with. Good luck Mamo
The way he addressed the economic policy prior to 2018 was fair unlike many of his friends. Public investment for country like ethiopia was not an option but of necessity Considering the gap in infrastracture and how backward we were. My question to the governor however is how can we say the public investment is changing tobprivate sector driven whe we actually see billions of birr being spent in lexury investments..may be more money is being spent on addis beautification than all the money spent on GERD, rural roads connectivity, apgriculture combined
Hi billeni where you was and why provide before l amazing and doing beautiful program to provide your people please go forward and keep going . thanks for program.
i believe these kind of people ,who understand what is going on ,deep understanding how economy is molded whether their decision is politically or personally motivated, they should be the leaders of the country. They can work for other companies once they are out of public office because they are knowledgeable on what they do.
Ethiopia was a sleeping giant whose people's desperate hope for change in early1990's was exploited by its internal and external enemies to taint its history, culture, and territorial integrity. That's why it's crucial for the new generation to have a continuation of political leadership, which will continue to undo unjustified and unfair political decisions, loss of vital ports, and access to the Red Sea. The current generation of Ethiopians wants political leadership, that prioritizes national security and creates infrastructure that enables citizens of this beautiful and diverse country of ours to be able to flourish with health, safety, secuity, and welfare. This new generation of this great nation demands to be able to walk our country to its height and claim the deserved position in the world that matches our history. God bless Ethiopia and its leaders. ኢትዮጵያን የነካ የለውም በረካ!
The fact that you are having such conversation in foreign tongue in itself is prgress. Keep up the good work. Next, you may want to tackle public confidence in public service institutions.
Are you telling us we are better of now than been 6 years ago Tell me how much was a liter of fuel, editable oil? Now it is 400% 20 Birr in 2018 now 101.23 Birr What about food, house rent Ok what about the universities the previous government was building What about the sugar factories not forgetting the infrastructures specially road networks connecting regions and entrance regions What you guys know is ruthlessness, dismantling social fabric, hopelessness of the general public towards his country, hyper inflation, grand corruption and cluelessness of an economic policy
There seems to be Ethiopia 🇪🇹 has young, capable finance and economic leaders. But, as you know, a country that is burning $$$ to fund civil war, will have near Zero chance of economic growth. Which kicks start a spiral downward. Fix these bloody civil wars
Abiy made everybody poorer. The guy should resign. He is the most incompetent leader ever. Life has become unbearable under him. He doesn’t care about people but only about his per wasteful projects. What a fail! Ps. let’s count down the minutes until this comment is deleted 😂 pp is a joke
True I agreed too This guy is telling us gold export doubled and foreign currency reserves double too This is simply due to the devaluation of the Birr Previously a gram of gold was sold for 6000 Birr now it is over 14000 Birr so for any layman this is not because of hard work rather the purchasing power decline of the currency
You guys are in fact notorious pathological liars. Mamo is condemning the former government for public investment & expenditure. He downplayed the former government's robust investments in public infrastructure like asphalt road & railway. And he acclaimed his current government extravagant behavior in lavish palace & resort construction, and vanity projects in so called corridor development. Actually Abiy Ahmad has been expending country's hard earned money for civil war & vanity projects like palace building & corridor development, which have no economic return. Whereas the former government, more or less, was oppssesed with expending country's hard earned money for public infrastructure, with all it's limitations. Shambolic indeed.

What about the sugar factories not forgetting the infrastructures specially road networks connecting regions and entrance regions
