I love that Julie jumps in and gets dirty to do these job. When I bought my house I could only afford a fixer upper. Friends taught me how to do almost everything from drywalling to electrical. So thankful to them for doing so. This was way before there was the internet to learn how. There is a feeling of empowerment when women do this kind of work when they were not raised doing them. Julie makes me smile because she reminds me of how enthusiastic and proud I was to do this stuff.

You however, are so tied to preserving the history and maintenance of this property in doing so much work , personally , where others would not lift a finger to do so. Thank you so much for teaching us about the history and traditions and importance of this beautiful estate 🏡. Your enthusiasm is inspiring and keeps me motivated to continue to watch and learn about historical properties and traditions from years ago and why it is important to preserve the standards of that time. Wishing you, Luke and the entire family a wonderful Thanksgiving from North Carolina in the USA 🇺🇸, knowing where you are is not the same. You might try helping to clean the water in the pool by using biochar, which you absolutely can create with all the biomass on your estate. Once created, by burning organic material in an oxygen starved environment (pyrolysis), you crush it up, place it in a mesh bag and submerge it under the water. It absorbs the excess nutrients, like the charcoal filter in an aquarium. Then the charged biochar makes an excellent fertilizer, sequestering the carbon that was causing the cloudiness in the pool. Full circle sustainability!

He filters the water of the pond through these flowerboxes continuously. Each box then spouts back into the pond looking like water features. Each box has a tap that can be shut in case you need to to some maintenance. The flowers grow like crazy and the water is filtered by the roots. Standing water is the problem. Your root system just need circulation added. Good luck.

A point of clarification is required: the titles you mention are titles of the nobility (e.g. Marquis/Marchioness). Whether or not the individual is royal (as in Duke vs. Royal Duke) is another matter entirely. Your family’s titles are noble rather than royal, I believe. Notwithstanding that, your videos are delightful.

I hope no one thinks she's being insincere or patronizing when she refers to herself as his apprentice despite the difference in status. It's very much a Midwestern way of showing gratitude for the education we're receiving. I hope no one takes it amiss.

The banter between the two of you is fabulous, my husband and I go back and forth in the same manner. You get as excited over Beaufort & Blake as we get over Duluth.

Julie that looked like a cold swim lol. I can tell you that from Michigan lake life, Winter lake water is always dark and cold. But come the break of Spring the lake looks clear and warm. ❤️🇺🇸
