    I did day-one today!
    Doing the assistance exercises first is definitely different -- especially when you unrack the first set of inclines and the bar crashes down on your chest because that lighter weight is now heavy with preexhausted tri's and delts. The best part -- workout #1 (with eight exercises) only took 31 minutes. THAT I like.

      @@tigertamerz7257 I usually lift heavy in the 3-5 rep range, so I feel you. These are 2x15 @ rpe7, so you'll blow through week one. I did one workout in 18 minutes.
      Week 2, which I start today, adds a failure set to each exercise, and week three another failure set, so all weeks won't look like week-one 👍

    I might use this when I come back in January! I really went balls out this past five months on the strength training and tweaked myself up a bit on the road to a 4 plate squat.

      @@paulchristie3306 I didn't, I got to 375. I snapped my shit up on the 2nd rep. Haven't squatted more than 225 since. As for how I got to that point after a few months of training? I train fkin hard, bro! I was maxing every week and doing volume work on the 2nd lower day. I honestly went too hard, but that's how I'm wired.

    I am so excited to start this. Been using 1x/week frequency to build myself back up after an injury and this is the perfect template to get me back into 2x/week.

      @@ryanrogers8211 I ran the last week of the first block on repeat for three months and made some great gains and some progress in size slightly beyond where I was before my break. I can’t really review the full program because I didn’t run the rest, but the first block is an incredible template for an arm and shoulders focused 2x frequency program. I’m back on 1x/week ppl because I have a lot less time to spend in the gym recently but if you have the time to spend each session it’s a great high volume low intensity structure

    I ran kong, it's good. Ended up buying the ebook. Noticeable gains in my triceps and shoulders. Didn't get too much in the way of strength gains except ohp when up a little but it is a hypertrophy program.

    Been stuck in a rut lately with training, so that could be right up my alley! Unfortunately, I'm not able to commit to 5 workouts a week...Could be cool to see if there are ways to run the program on 4 workouts weekly!

      I’d consolidate the first two push and pull sessions into an upper day, maybe adjust the exercise selections to allow for antagonist supersets or cut some volume to save time. You’d only be missing out on some delt frequency and maybe lower back recovery

    Day 1 Done , it was pretty weird with the incline bench at near the end ( because I had to reduce the weight to 50% of my 1RM to meet the RPE) OH and the JM Press wrecked my arms ! 100% recommended and I will edit after week 1.

    Just started the program today. I’ve been back in the gym about 8 months. Trying to gain a little size but don’t want to get much fatter than I am. I lost 25 lbs and want to take a break from cutting for about 6 months. Do you think this is a good idea. Want to be around maintenance calories or slightly higher. What is your opinion.     How do we deal with the issue of experts disagreeing on key issues? Obviously you know your shit lol. It seems Paul Carter does too. Here you have the pendlay row in a hypertrophy programme and Paul specifically says the pendlay row is terrible for hypertrophy because there's no stabilization and no eccentric. What should we do, should we just pick a guy like a football supporter? Legit question..

      More muscle is more strength potential. So unless your strength oriented training builds you tons of muscle, hypertrophy phases are great.

      All muscles cross a joint, this is where leverage comes into play. An insertion further away from the joint creates greater leverage, but this isn't something we can train. A larger muscle also has greater leverage because the angle at which it pulls on the joint, and you can train this. Therefore a larger muscle is stronger, and someone who has intermediate or advanced strength levels that has never trained for size can likely get the best strength gains by training for muscle mass.
