Araneta and Ultra are were the top pef. venues during those time for both sport and concerts. But only are the big ones can filled the arenas before. Narito Ako is Regine's 1st solo major concert staged at Folk Arts Theater. FAT is the premier PH concert venue at that time. Araneta is more known as a sporting venue. Seating capacity is nearly similar: FAT is 8,458. Araneta concert capacity is 9,679 (proscenium stage).
And both venues napuno nya, then and now. Which other artist find it hard to get in full pack 💪💪💪
Araneta and Ultra are were the top pef. venues during those time for both sport and concerts. But only are the big ones can filled the arenas before. Vilma, Alma, Sharon, Snooky, Maricel, Manilyn and the Top singers with the likes of Pops, Martin, Gary V, Zsa zsa, Kuh and some of the International Singers. While the Folk Arts, stand as the basic ground for newcomer like Regine. sayang di na ata ginagamit yan ngayon pati yung Ultra.
Regine in the early 90s was filling up ULTRA and was doing 2 nights at the FAT. I really mind that the bashers - especially from that fandom that must not be named - insist that Regine broke through nung R2K lang dahil nakapag Araneta. Araneta can be configured to fit a smaller audience para masabi lang na SRO ung show. If i remember right, Araneta also had a reputation na bakya at pangmasa dati - compared sa ULTRA and FAT, and during Ronnie Henares’ time, di yan ang target market nya for Regine.
This is one of the reasons why I've always wanted to be alive on this era....
I was there at upper box B, Folk Arts Theater... That was the first ever major concert ni Queen na napanood ko at grabe ang hype ng audience at standing ovation sa kanya... Since then hindi naq napanood ng concert nya live prang unat huli ko nlng ata sya mkikita ng live concert hayssss...
Manood ka po maybe sa 40th yr anniversary nya.

Even though we have a lot of good singers nowadays it is still clearly justifiable the boundary line that separates Regine to the rest.. it takes another century maybe to see another such talent again and match the things that she accomplished. a legend.

I can’t believe that I used to sing at a party the Please Be Careful With My Heart without knowing it was Ate’s song since it was just requested that I sing it with someone at the party 😄 I came here when she was just starting her career and did not fully appreciate her until about 11 years ago even if her song was our first dance on our wedding day❤️
