If there's two things I enjoy, it's the underrated fun you can have in a FWD, and trail braking!
I wanna do this in a minivan lol 😂
The subtle shift in weight from trail braking is essential for quick winter driving in my Legacy GT wagon, thanks for the lessons!
Love to see the learning progression, seems like you really gotta be on the throttle
I learned how to trail brake by left foot braking through 90 degree asphalt corners on a rural road in old GM automatics🥰
Great video!! It’s a great tool to practice. Thanks a lot!
Thank you guys, this was awesome.
Great videos. Your compound looks picturesque. No snow here in my part of the states thankfully. :)
Wondering if I can employ this technique in sim....
Or if Dirt Rally 2 is sim enough to trail brake
Yeah you can on dirt rally I do it in almost every corner
Yes this is definitely something you can and should try and perfect on sim. Done properly this technique is how race car drivers can brake at the last possible second and carry the most speed around most corners.
why do you keep the gas on while breaking ?
From my limited sim racing experience I would say that you are effectively shifting the break balance rearwards, prevent locking up the fronts and helping to rotate the car.
Yep, as I understood they do this in order to prevent the front tires from locking but I don’t think they want to shift the balance to the rear otherwise it would understeer. I really need to try that but before I should learn how to left foot brake correctly….
@@gorgeotyann9553 Break balance, not weight balance - as in break the rear more than the factory/setup setting. If you shift your brake balance in a car that allows for adjustment on the fly, the rear will rotate more willingly.
@@666louis yes brake balance indeed, you are right :) And now I’m wondering if it would be better to adjust the balance on the car directly (that would apply to all corners), or, only while you are driving into tricky corners like the one in the video (with this technique).
