MARY POPPINS premiered at THE FOX in 1964 and there were two lines -- one going in each direction down FIRST ST - to buy tickets and then come into the theatre. The staff had boxes of candy stacked on top of each other behind the snack bar - they could not sell it fast enough --- Built in the late 20's this movie 'palace' brings back so many memories!
I notice quite a few comments from people saying the screen is small. I don’t think it’s as small as people think it’s just that the seating in these old theatres go back much further than in modern cinemas mainly due to these old theatres having much higher seating capacity. The front row of the balcony is probably as far from the screen as the back row in a multiplex cinema.
Love the Gothic windows! Quite a mish-mash of styles, but quite magic. The breathing of the camera operator reminded me of 2001!
Excellent tour of the theater. Thank You

Some theaters actually have private balconies for private parties but it's very costly.
