She's such an incredible lady. Alot of people think she's ugly.....but COME ON! Looking at this video can you honestly say that? She's utterly beautiful, both looks wise and her personality! I would consider myself the luckiest person in the world, if I was ever fortunate enough to meet her! Hopefully I'm still in with a chance :P Elly you're amazing, and I will always admire you
Just goes to show how different the culture is in English Canada vs. French Canada. Love the way this interview is done on this show... and most people I know have never heard of La Roux, which is sad. The music is great. Even if you don't like the music, you have to respect Elly Jackson quite a bit (well, I do anyway) for not being afraid to be honest about everything, even other Pop stars. Nicely done.

One of the most awesome interviews with Elly so FAR! She is so inteligent, lovely, funny and honest. I feel sorry for her, because she was bullied in the school because of her weight. I think nobody should be bullied because of their weight, colour of skin, sexual orientation or religion. We are human beings.
No, she was interviewed before LaRoux. She is a well known artist in Quebec. The other guy with the beard is a comedian and was also interviewed before LaRoux. That's the format of the show.

it's an french canadian show, of course they speak french, but alot of french canadian are bilingual so... we can understand and talk... the french subtitles is for a small amount of peoples who's only understand french... she dont know french but someone translate very quick with a plug on her ear.
I bought the album, of course I did. Actually I chatted with the guy at HMV (Canadian) about La Roux and he had no idea who she/they is/are and it was great to help spread the word and support Elly & Ben at the same time.
Lol I love Ellie, she's really natural and doesn't mind telling stuff about her past, and still keep it entertaining ^^ Btw about music downloads... A lot of people really love music, but it costs quite a lot of money if you want a decent collection. I buy CD's from the artists I really love, to support them, like La Roux, but others who are 1 hit wonders aren't even worth a dollar/euro

in the past i have always choosen to give my music away freely through CC / e-safe creative liscences. I'm kind of tired of it, actually, having put out 6 releases since 2006. But I think times are changing, and when i'll go through with a next album/Ep, it'll be for sale online or through self-release DIY disc. probably. or an indie label form around here.
Because of La Roux's comment at the end of the interview, I'm actually going to BUY her cd instead of finding it for free wherever. As an artist- I can relate to the wish I had more money angle...

Yes they are, 2 of them are from Marseille, and the other is from Lyon. They are actually planning on transferring schools, so that they can live here for a bit more

I've downloaded free music before, but it was really old stuff like the Beatles and The Flaming Lips' 11-year-old album. I agree that it hurts musicians starting out when people download their stuff for free, because then they don't see any of the money they would have gotten. I have no problem with someone downloading a song by someone who's off spending 1/2 a million on rings and shit, 'cause they obviously are doing fine, but when someone's just starting out, it's just not fair to them.
@astrogeek15 The Beatles had a set of dolls like that. They be set on a stand, their heads on a spring and they would bob their head when you'd move the base, it was a ton of fun back in the '60's. So imagine a doll of Ely with a pull string that says: "Rap music isn't really music, and these guys shouldn't call themselves 'musicians'..."

Being an artist myself i can say it is extremely frustrating and aggravating to know that something you've worked really really hard on and spent a lot of time, effort and money creating is just given away for free. it makes music worthless and cheapens its' integrity.

It's not a translation problem, I do know the diffence between "humoriste" and "comédien" in French. I really thought he was a comedian not an actor, I stand corrected.

even if she didn't have an ear piece in (which she has) she would have a translator and the program would be edited so you can't see them
